The last few days have seen a ton of industry related responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than give each story a separate thread, I'm going to collect them all in this thread...well, mostly.

Instead of the usual copy/pasta, I'll give a brief summary and then the source link.

With more places closing 'non essential' businesses local comic shops are in deep trouble. Figure 12 weeks of lock down, so many small businesses will be on the ropes without some serious help.

I don't think it will take 12 weeks. I thought I read a statistic that most small businesses don't have enough cash to surive a month, much less three. I know a lot of pudits say that things will bounce back, but I'm not convinced of that. For me at least, buying comics is a habit as well as a hobby. Not being able to go to the local comic book store breaks the habit - and habits are very hard to change.

Until now, I've been deliberately splitting things about 60/40 (mail order/local comic book store) so that I support my local comic book shop. But with my local comic book shop closed? My guess is that I'll shift to buying from mail order almost exclusively.

I only buy at my local shop, and will again when this is all over I hope. But yeah, these businesses will need help.
