Don't know whether this is true or not, but a Youtuber is claiming the plans are to produce online comings and then release them in collected formats.

Could be...or at least there are a lot of rumors that DC wants to push/expand their online publishing.

They would probably save a ton in printing costs, but RIP local comic shops.

As it stands now, online only account for about 10% of comics bought. If they do go full online I know I'm not buying anymore and will focus on back issues. I'm thinking a good percentage of collectors will do the same. I don't know how that will impact the bottom line for DC though.

They hired two people with digital media experience so I think its inevitable.

Plus they've writing with trade/collected formats in mind for awhile now [Geoff Johns being the obvious example with his abuse of splash pages to pad out the page count] so they might as well just go that route anyway.
