It's official. All three Marvel Studios releases this year have crossed the $1 billion mark at the box office.

Earlier today, it was announced that Spider-Man: Far From Home officially surpassed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. While it's now the first Spider-Man film to do so, it's more importantly the third Marvel Studios film to accomplish said feat this year following Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

As of today, Spider-Man: Far From Home is sitting at $1.005 billion at the worldwide box office, that makes it the highest earning Spider-Man film -- not adjusted for inflation, of course. That title previously belonged to 2007's Spider-Man 3 which pulled in an astounding $890.9 million worldwide at the time. To date, Far From Home has earned $333 million from the domestic box office and $672 million from combined overseas markets. Before it finishes its run, Spider-Man: Far From Home should pass the $400 million mark at the domestic box office.

Meanwhile, Captain Marvel crossed the $1 billion mark a month into its release earlier this year. When all was said and done, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first female-led film finished with $1.128 billion at the worldwide box office.

The most notable entry for Marvel Studios, however, was Avengers: Endgame. Sure, it crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. It even went on to surpass $2 billion. But it's biggest achievement? Becoming the the highest grossing film of all time, beating out Avatar for the title. Endgame is currently sitting at $2.791 billion worldwide and is still chugging along.

Up next for Marvel Studios is Black Widow which is directed by Cate Shortland. The film stars stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz. Black Widow arrives in theaters on May 1, 2020.

Let's just hope it doesn't go to their heads and they forget how they got there you know. All it will take is some jack ass at Disney that decides they have a way to 'improve' things by pissing in the broth.

Fair point.

My understanding is that as long as things are going well, Disney takes a "hands off" approach. Hopefully, that's actually true.

So far they have, and I hope they continue. We don't need a kathleen kennedy involve in the MCU.

Just for a point of reference, how much did each of the 3 films cost?

Boxofficemojo.com states that Spiderman's production budget was $160 million. Capt. Marvel is not listed, but it's probably in the same ballpark.

Endgame is listed at $356 million, but that may also include the budget for Infinity War (which is not listed) since the films were shot back-to-back and used much of the same studio, locations, etc...

These production budget numbers generally don't include the marketing budget which often times can be as high as $100 million on a mega-blockbuster film.

And he will actually show up for work unlike Snipes. Wesley really shot himself in the foot over all that drama.
