My dad used to make me watch next generation as a kid. I didn't really want to because I was too young to appreciate it, but that trailer made me smile big time.
I like the premise a lot but Data looks ridiculous. You can't bring back a fat Brent Spiner and throw a ridiculous wig on him and expect it to pass as Data. Androids aren't supposed to age and he looks really silly here.

it's not a logic issue, but a visual distraction. Brent Spiner previously claimed he would never come back as Data because he was too old be playing an android that doesn't age. And I agree with that. But maybe they can address it in the show which points out Data chose to be more human by placing a chip in his positronic brain that makes his outside skin age at an normal rate.

It is probably part of the story because modern SFX can make someone look younger
