Though CBS All Access has not yet announced an official premiere date for Star Trek: Discovery Season 3, the popular sci-fi series has reportedly been renewed for a fourth season.

Production reports indicate active development has begun on Season 4, though there has been no official confirmation from CBS at this time. Active development could entail hiring writers and designers to begin pre-production work on the television series, months before the start of principal photography.

Discovery Season 2 ended just as the crew of the USS Discovery was accidentally transported 320 years into the future. The characters found themselves in an unfamiliar universe where Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets no longer appeared to figure prominently in the cosmos of the 32nd century.

Under the guidance of executive producer Alex Kurtzman, CBS has expanded new Star Trek programming significantly since Discovery's premiere, including the eagerly anticipated Star Trek: Picard premiering later this month and a new animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks, set to premiere later this year.

Streaming on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham, Doug Jones as Commander Saru, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Shazad Latif as Ash Tyler, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Mary Chieffo as L'Rell, Tig Notaro as Chief Engineer Reno, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou. Season 2 is available in its entirety now, with Season 3 expected to premiere sometime in 2020.

Still not interested. I saw some clips of the show that looked like absolute dog shit, written by someone that has no idea what Star Trek was supposed to be about.
