This is all I could find on him pertaining to the videos.   I never heard of him before your post.  I have many Japanese videos that show the techniques in detail but the wording is in Japanese, (from my sensei whi is Japanese.

never seen any dvd's, just vhs. They're ok, certainly not the greatest ever put to film, but well made

As an instructional collecting junkie I have to say Cunningham's tapes are some of the best I've seen on judo. They're well organized with great details and they filled in a lot of gaps in my judo knowledge. Did he do anything else?

as a junkie, you wouldn't happen to have the carlson jr and rey diego set, would you?

Edit: this one, not the carlson jr set put out by paul and the diego island set.

Sorry, don't have the Diego set. Another good judo source are Vlad Koulikov's videos.

the old mike swain set put out by paul is also very good, as is the Iizumi soft judo set and the mastering judo set by okada and sharp. Dave Williams set is also worth picking up, the willy cahill set from 94' also.

I have the Cunningham on VHS, very good conceptual instructional. He never was a high level competitor but I remember a few serious Judoka speaking highly of his knowledge of traditional Judo (god, was that really the 1990s)?

I tracked down Cunningham earlier this year online and said hello. I was going to ask him if he has secret footage of sets 3,4,5 ... But around the same time i contacted his demo partner Linda Yiannapolis asked her about it she said they never got around to filming it :-(

Thanks so much!

Who did Cunningham study under? Does he still have a dojo? I too emailed him back and forth a year or two ago and then he disappeared on me. Some old discussion boards say that his background is kind of a mystery but he definitely learned his good material from somewhere.
