Powerful judo for this past weekend. Without the Asians the finesse factor is out the window.  Wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of some of these throws.

The throw by Isaev at the 3:40 mark is one of the most dynamic throws I have ever seen. I wonder if he is any relation to 2012 Olympic Champion Mansur Isaev.

Isa Isaev looks like a spitting image of his brother Mansur ISaev if in fact they are brothers which I do not know.  He is an unknown in -66k ranking.  Beware taking the high collar grip and exposing yourself to counter sleeve grip and get thrown with sode. The opponent was  #4 -66k WW Shamilov (ISR) in the Quarter Final. And unranked like himself Niniashville (GEO) he beat in the Semi Final and lost in the Final to unranked Le Bouch of FRA in Golden Score by wazari. Like I said above this was a contest for the unranked in some respects without the Asians and higher ranked judokas.

The Final Match is so grueling if someone cares to watch.

Clip of Isaev doing this same Sode tsuri-komi-goshi form 2018.  Never seen before like this.  WOW.

That was crazy. Was it a Sode?

Yes, Sode.

Another from 2018 Sode similar:

Teams like the Russian are so deep.  An unranked guy beats the #4 in the World -66k..

Damn that's amazing. He didn't give up, reminds me of Koga's determination.

That throw was done on Chibana (BRA) curretly #21 seed -66k.  Chibana is past his prime 29 yrs. old  for judo but still has some skills.   Why isn't Isaev ranked by the IJF?  Russia has 5 judokas in top 100 -66k.

Thanks for posting the video Aaron.  Countries like Russia and Japan are so deep in talent. Isaev is dangerous for any top seed.  Time will tell if and when he moves head of his teammates.
