This is nothing more than the USA's government greed and control of the globe.

To pretend we actually give any fucks (as a government) about drug smugglers bringing drugs here is laughable.

The leader our government wants in power there has similar ties to the same shit.

Our CIA has been complicit in helping drug smugglers for decades.

Our government did absolutely nothing other than slap HSBC on the wrist even AFTER they directly admitted to knowingly and deceptively helping cartels and terrorists smuggle over a billion dollars in only a few short years.

But you don't want Maduro to stay in power, correct?

I want the USA to kind it's own business and stop using false pretenses to try and overthrow other governments so they and the corporations can have power and profits.

Pretending this is about trying to help the people of Venezuela is laughable. Especially at a time where our current leader has spent 3 years trying to stop any and all of them from being able to find safety here.

The best way to help the people of Venezuela would be to get rid of Maduro

Possibly.

All I am saying is that this is not the motivations of our government. It never has been with our public or secret regime change initiatives in central and south America.

It is complete hypocrisy for the US, the biggest drug trafficking country in the world that is allied with virtually every cartel in South America, to be accusing anyone of being a drug trafficker. Doubly so when the Venezuelan opposition itself is tied by a thousand threads to the Colombian cartels. Even Washington's appointed dictator of Venezuela, Juan Guaido, has himself been caught collaborating on the ground with Colombian cartels, who invade Venezuela and perform political assassinations upon its workers and poor on behalf of US big business.

And what is Guaido’s response to being photographed working with cartel leaders? He says that it isn’t important that there is photo evidence of him working with cartel terrorists. The real scandal, according to him, is that these photographs were leaked to the internet, which he claims is a nefarious conspiracy of the Maduro regime. Apparently exposing the truth is some sort of socialist crime according to the US and its coup-plotting narco-puppets.

That sounds so familiar...

The focus on the leaker instead of the content of the leak....

Venezuela has been on the neocon intervention hit list for a long time now.

Remember when people were saying they wanted Trump to win to keep us out of foreign entanglements? Remember when the neocons swamp monsters were going to be thrown out of power when Trump won? Looks like that was just another lie.

Do you really give a fuck about the people of Venezuela? If so, move there and really help.

Unbeknownst to many and rarely mentioned is that a big part of the trafficking is Hezbollah, they have a big presence in Venenzuela and Mexico.

Did you know the former Vice President was half Lebanese, half Syrian and 10000% Hezbollah?

Venezuelan VP Tareck El Aissami Is Bad News

At the end of February, the Trump Administration took the brave move to sanction Venezuela’s Vice President Tareck El Aissami. Just who is Tareck El-Aissami?

The newly appointed vice president of Lebanese-Syrian origins has been a controversial figure for years. Linked to a major cocaine-trafficking outlet and to the Jihadi Shia terror organization, Hezbollah, he has been under the careful eye of the DEA, FBI and other intelligence agencies, which were just waiting for him to slip up. President Nicolas Maduro should have known he was playing with fire when he promoted the key player in Iran and Hezbollah’s Venezuelan activities, just as Donald Trump was putting Iran “on notice.”

El Aissami was born into controversy. His father Zaidan El Amin El Aissami (Carlos Zaidan), is a radical and ardent supporter of Islamic jihad with strong ties to Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, an Iraqi military commander and leader of the “Iraqi Resistance.” These are the same Shia units who are responsible for the deaths of scores of American servicemen. His father and his associates are unsurprisingly known to despise the United States.

We actually had a big Operation called Casandra that was working on stopping Hezbollah's hold in the region, but Obama wanted that nuclear deal with Iran so it was squashed.

The secret backstory of how Obama let Hezbollah off the hook

An ambitious U.S. task force targeting Hezbollah's billion-dollar criminal enterprise ran headlong into the White House's desire for a nuclear deal with Iran.

The campaign, dubbed Project Cassandra, was launched in 2008 after the Drug Enforcement Administration amassed evidence that Hezbollah had transformed itself from a Middle East-focused military and political organization into an international crime syndicate that some investigators believed was collecting $1 billion a year from drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and other criminal activities.

Over the next eight years, agents working out of a top-secret DEA facility in Chantilly, Virginia, used wiretaps, undercover operations and informants to map Hezbollah’s illicit networks, with the help of 30 U.S. and foreign security agencies.

They followed cocaine shipments, some from Latin America to West Africa and on to Europe and the Middle East, and others through Venezuela and Mexico to the United States. They tracked the river of dirty cash as it was laundered by, among other tactics, buying American used cars and shipping them to Africa. And with the help of some key cooperating witnesses, the agents traced the conspiracy, they believed, to the innermost circle of Hezbollah and its state sponsors in Iran.

And there he is!

The one who likes to tell Venezuelan people that they don't really know what's going on and will tell ex-patriated Venezuelans that Maduro is still an overall good for the country.

Lemme guess, sanctions (that weren't in effect until recently and before then only on inviduals)

Any more greyzone, RT talking points to bring into this?

Venezuela is a failed state - before the US even did a thing the numbers are there for all to see.

I can't believe you are still trying to jockey for Maduro.

I live in Colombia. Every government official here is linked to a cartel. Duque who's president now is a direct puppet to the last president who had to bow out from so much known cartel activity. Every government official in South America is linked to cartels. And guess who approves it all. Good ole CIA. I feel for my adopted home Colombia. So many poor people and just constant unchecked corruption.
