Glorious to see the Oilers fail again. What a shitty team despite having McDavid and Draisaitl
fuk. nurse, nugent-h
what the fuck is wrong with them? management
At this point who knows. 1 more #1 pick is all they need.
It’s a 5 game series. Shit happens. Look at how many upsets there were back in the early 80’s when 5 round series were a thing. Add in the fact that these should technically be preseason games and anything can happen. Chicago came to play.
I’m going to go on a rant here. Draisaitl is probably going to win MVP and the Outstanding player award, but everyone knows McDavid drives the team. He can do it on his own and sometimes it feels like his teammates are cool with sitting back and watching. The fact McDavid can play with plugs and still draw the first pairing D is such a ridiculous advantage for the rest of the team. Meanwhile Draisaitl can play with the best wingers and get the second pairing D and become the league MVP.
Draisaitl/Nugent Hopkins/Yamamoto was the hottest line in hockey the last 20 games and they don’t have to play the top Defensemen.
Huge advantage right??
Fucking nopers. Tippett inexplicably breaks up the line for the playoffs. Decides to put them back together for the last 7 minutes of the series and they create about six ridiculous chances.
None of that explains the last 20 years of suck. Having said all that. I’m about the least optimistic Oiler fan you’ll ever meet (most are completely delusional. I honestly haven’t expected them to make the playoffs every year for the last 10) yet I feel really good about the next 2-5 years. Management is the best it’s been since the 80’s and they actually have a decent prospect group now. May not win the cup, but they’ll be a perennial top 4 team in the west for a while.
1 more #1 pick is all they need? They've selected #1 four fucking times in the last 10 years.
I've heard it all now.
