OtherGround Forums College Football 2020-2021 Thread

Let’s get back to work despite COVID. Post your team, players to watch for, playoff predictions, etc. 

I’ll start with a few teams, and players I’ve been watching YouTube clips of: 

teams to watch for: 

1. Clemson with sunshine QB and that new top DL recruit Bryan Breese. Don’t forget Travis Etienne is back.
 

2.Ohio State (Juston fields and co. return) also a top blue chip in WR Julian Fleming. Don’t forget some of the top guards in the nation (Wyatt Davis) and C.

3.LSU (Amazing recruiting too lazy to name them, but they are reloading and have amazing receivers from Ja’Maar Chase to T Marshall

4.Alabama (Have to put them in, but things will continue in Tuscaloosa). Dylan Moses is a top LB, and Najee Harris at RB returns. Plus new locker rooms per Matrix 
 

Dark Horse teams: Oklahoma State, Wisconsin (Harvard of Midwest). West Virginia, Florida. 
 

Many new A&M players to watch for including Jaylen Jones and the return of young RB Isiah Spiller. However, inconsistent QB play at A&M is my concern.

 

Post some of your players to watch for, and teams to keep an eye on! Who do talk have making playoffs? 

Hopefully we’ll have a sense of normalcy in near future.

Always have to include OU in there. Just think this year Oklahoma State could be dangerous. 

I love cfb. My favorite sport to watch. Praying it starts on time. Fields getting heisman this year. Ohio State national champs.

SEC and big 12 definitely want things to resume. I heard 50 percent attendance reduction. I have no idea I just want my games dammit!

I’m right there with you. Needs to be more consistent and we need the Oline to step up. He’ll have PLENTY of weapons. No excuses there. Like you I just want to watch college football. We need it lol.

Oklahoma will have a much improved defense,  spenser rattler will emerge as a Heisman candidate and Oklahoma will win the big 12, like they always do.

Oh yeah the odds are in your favor for sure, I just want something different and think OSU may finally be able to do something. OU also has a legit recruiting >

This will be the saddest annual CF thread to date.  

At least OU is doing well this month in recruiting.

Did you guys look over the new rule changes yet? 2 of them are a direct result of Nick Saban being butthurt about their loss to Auburn. One is that their can now be 12 players on the field up until the ball is snapped. This is due to Bama getting a 12 man penalty at the end of the Iron Bowl allowing Auburn to run out the clock. The second makes it where there must be at least 3 seconds left on the clock at the end of half to get a play off if the clock has to be restarted. This Nick had changed because Auburn kicked a 52 yard field goal with 1 second remaining before halftime last season. I mean to me this is bullshit. He has had rule changes made in the past to slow down Auburn's hurry up offense as well. What do you all think about it?

coaches, especially Saban, have been complaining uptempo a lot more recently. Probably due to big game moments where a team subs to slow time down. Not sure, but I don’t think the new changes will be that major.

Kick Six will always be my favorite instance of “be careful what you ask for”. Coach Saban demanded that second be put back on the clock and suddenly he’s on the business end of arguably the greatest play since the Stanford kickoff return. Then again, if he hits it, he’s gutsy for going for it and believing in his players. But he should stop acting like the Mayor of Football.

Agreed. I've decided to not watch the NFL at all this year, so I'm all in on the NC State 8-5 San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl WAR WAGON.

My favorite and first love when it comes to sports, just hoping it goes down. I'll just have a seat here and await news / discussion.
