The winter here has been unusually warm, even as parts of TX have been socked with a 'once in a century' winter storm.  

We usually get into the upper 30s a couple times a year, and about every other year it will get down to freezing for a few hours once or twice.  But this year I don't think we've been below 45.  Lots of mid 80s days in Feb and Jan.   Kind of annoying, actually. I like having a good cold snap.

That got damn land hurricane derecho was the only strange thing I remember last year. The aftermath certainly caused me to become a bit of a prepper.

That got damn land hurricane derecho was the only strange thing I remember last year. The aftermath certainly caused me to become a bit of a prepper.

I think 5 or so hurricanes hit the gulf in a few weeks.
The derecho was devastating, taking out 1/3 of the U.S. corn crop.
It's also why soy was crushed.
China's known this, they've got 1.4 billion mouths to feed.

The derecho was the VERY beginning.
Peak cycle is 2024-25.
By then America will be unrecognizable in many ways.
