My old man was like this. Almost nothing he could do as far as fixing or buildning anything mechanical. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tile, etc. etc.

Machinist by trade (well one of his trades, also washing machine repair, his own side business).

When some precision machine broke, rather than wait for parts from sweden, he just made them by hand. no blue prints,

That’s awesome.

I loved tearing down and rebuilding old things. Haven’t done it in awhile though. I wish I had this guys setup, that’s all I would do.

That ratcheting screwdriver vid......I was as amazed with the design of the tool as I was with the restoration of it.

Holy Shit. That’s the black hole of non-productivity!

Love these channels, so satisfying.

My personal favourite is The Geoffrey Croker channel.  A fellow in NZ doing some really cool at home restorations on random tools, and an old Land Rover.  Very funny/dry humour, and really good production value while still keeping homemade aesthetic.

Always wish I was born with an engineers brain. That stuff looks alien to me.

In for later - I love build videos / shows...especially if it's cars, motorcycles, engine building, or metal fabrication (not as much into houses, carpentry, etc).
