Has a Pitbull. They just moved to the neighbourhood, their daughter and mine are in the same class so theyre super pumped to hang out. Issue is.. they have a fucking pitbull.

I told them because of the dog we dont want our daughter there, but they can have their daughter at our place. We also have a dog. They think im over reacting and now they dont want our daughter to play with their kid at all now because there isnt a difference between our Akita and their pitbull.

They are butt hurt as they say the dog is gentle as can be and is well behaved and blah blah blah. Its a pitbull! I just dont want her face ripped apart.

Am I overreacting? I havent met the dog yet. Should i check it out?

my gut tells me fuck no, but now the girls cant play at all together, and i have a dog too.

what you say OG.

Fuck them... not so much because of the dog, but because they can't put themselves in your shoes.

What's the difference between an akita and a pitbull in this particular situation?

Exactly! Akitas are known to turn on a dime also.

I cant say my dog will always be 100% perfect as well. Maybe them just playing at the school is whats best.

They met my dog and are okay with him.

Akita’s were bred for aggression as well. So you’re either trolling or stupid.

To be clear when my daughter has friends over the dog is either outside, or inside deoending where the kids are.

I dont let her friends go near the dog.

he's right. i've got two kids and own a cane corso and an american bulldog. personally, i'd rather my kids be around a pit before they're around an akita.

Yeah. It wasn’t too serious but I was bleeding and it did hurt lol. It was a Pit that was abused in Detroit and he rescued it.

I got up in between fights to piss and it followed me into the bathroom. It got excited and started to bite his toilet plunger lol. Then when I was trying to get it to get out of the bathroom it turned around jumped up on me and bit me. Not fun

Go over and play with the pit to judge it yourself. Get a feel for the parents too and how well they discipline the dog. Many pits are big babies and take on the demeanor of the owners. How old is your kid btw?

I own a pit bull and the standing rule in my house is that any kids that come over must be armed. That way its a fair fight. I'm happy, friends parents are happy and my lawyer is happy.

We had him since he was a pup. Akitas are good with the children of the home. Thats why we never leave her unattended with the dog as a precaution.
