Pedo-filter: I am talking about blackjack.
I rarely hit on 16s, if I do it is a gut feeling because a lot of high value cards have come out. Mostly though I would rather keep myself in the game until the dealer at least flips their cards.
I find it laughable when people get so upset at others for not playing basic strategy. Basic strategy with a dealer showing a 6 and nobody hits, we assume the dealer will bust. Yet when you get 16 you’re supposed to hit hoping for a 5 or less? GTFO

To clarify my position...
If the table has hands such as 14, 13, 12 and the dealer is showing a 6. We all stand expecting that the dealer busts.
When I am dealt the 16 and the dealer is showing 7-10/A, I no longer expect this hand to bust? And basic strategy says to hit? Why? Why not stay in the game and see what happens?
We hope for 5 total possible cards. (5,4,3,2,A)
Vs praying against 8 possible cards to bust before the dealer even shows their cards. (6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K)
