I've been using this a lot lately. No excuses, no explanation, just truth.

Brother-in-law texted asking if we wanted to meet 1.5 hours away for dinner this past weekend.
Nope.
Why?
Don't Wanna.

No problem with that. Im sick anbd tired of having to spew out excuses as to why I don't want to do something.

its simple.....

Don't wanna.

Yep. . simple, straight to the point...

And when the wife wants to be a little puta about shit, I say, "because I'm gonna do what the fuck I wanna do.. "

If they are persistent, like the wife, I'll ad "don't care"...

I had this conversation on Saturday night.

We could go to brunch tomorrow at that place you like!

Nope.

Why? You like that place.

Don't wanna.

But they are having live jazz in the courtyard.

Don't care.

Come on, you'll enjoy it once you get there.

Don't wanna.

You love their crab benedict.

Don't care.

But we can walk around after and get some shots of historic xyz!

Don't wanna.

She persisted for another couple minutes before declaring that I was impossible. So as she stormed off I told her to bring me a drink....to which she replied "get it yourself" when she had a golden opportunity to use "don't wanna" and she failed.

I've finally used it enough to where if someone asks, and I say no, they don't bother with follow ups. Its magical.

When she said get it yourself you should have said, "dont wanna".

I take a pass on the regular. Wife doesn't like it, but I don't care.

I know I don't sound like much fun, but Jesus my life got so much better since I don't really hit a restaraunt 7 times a week.

Lol, i dont consciously make it a thing, but i have realized that just not feeling like doing whatever it is, is a perfectly good reason and shouldnt be questioned.

Some people don’t understand that doing nothing and then wanting to do nothing are perfectly valid reasons to get out of doing something.

Solid work OP. I usually go with "don't feel like it".

Or if it's via text, I'll ignore it and then text back next day and say yes even though I know the events already past. Just to fuck with people.
