Oh dude that's sweet

Besides the barrel sogsteel recommended, this piece "feels" the most legit so far. Beautiful. My FFL joined the club today after looking at it.

If you want a small project to do the red paint colors in the selector pictograms are quite a bit darker than HK. I scraped mine out and used modeling paint that matched the HK color. I can give you the paint color name when I get home from work.

Do I need a titanium barrel nut, if I can find one? Also what kind or brand of trigger assembly should we get?

I personally would be inclined to go with  a geissele, because out side of how annoying the cult of bill can be... They make some quality fucking triggers... But I think they are hard to get a hold of and I dont think they are clone correct to the actual HK 416 system triggers.

Geissele hasnt done a batch of triggers in a while. They are hard to come by. ALG is your next best bet. Not all AR triggers work in the 416

I would go with a HK barrel nut or titanium. I have a tiatanium one but i haven't thrown it on anything

I have a complete kit from Brownells with a few upgrade parts. I plan to build out the kit but eventually want to add a G28 patrol handguard and a different barrel to lighten the thing up.

Here's an update on how much I've spent so far, barely under $2000:

Looking good so far! Looks need to track down a piston with rod assembly, Pistol grip, muzzle device, buffer tube, buffer, buffer spring, stock, ambi selector assembly, selector arms, trigger guard (if not using standard from parts kit), trigger, plus some small parts like pins.

Whats the difference between a hk416 geissele trigger and a regular ar geissele trigger, other than the price?

The hammer sits higher. Some normal trigger wont engage the firing pin safety. There is a list of functional triggers on HKPro

Brownells has Ral dust covers and Stocks. The dust covers are RAL but a little darker than the Ral8000. I didnt even know they had different color till I got a few. I will post some comparison pics tomorow. I still need to post the pictogram paint colors as well.

You can check HK Haus as well. They had some Ral stuff last i checked
