Germany is doing better than any other western country and Taiwan is doing better than anyone and both have universal healthcare.

Meh. I like the healthcare system up here for the most part. It works pretty well.

I’m not sure any healthcare system would survive the comparative numbers that the Italian system got hit with.

Why’re you blaming the healthcare system and not the weird face kissing to greet they do?

And to be fair I don't think Canada is as dirty as Italy. Canada is a nice place with clean people from what little I've seen of it.

Not bad.

The surgical consult was done via teleconference so we're only a day or so behind what the schedule would be if there was no pandmic.

No problem getting tests done based on our triage.

Surgury is still an option is it becomes critical.

That's always a card we can play.

Next is getting the Chemo drugs set up.

I usually get to see my Doc the day after I call or the day of, depending on the situation.

Surgury can happen immediately depending on what it is.

My Wife had a few CT scans, PET scan and some other tests within hours of needing them recently.

Wow!

I guess you haven't counted the number of past influenza deaths in this country over the years. Life under Capitalist Medicine.

To be fair I think the US results have to do with a higher test percentage than that of other nations...which is why cases are going up so much faster than death rates right now.

I think this is also likely occuring in Germany.

My guess is the infected number in Italy and Spain is a tiny fraction of actual sick.

The wait for elective surgeries is disgusting. My neighbour tore his ACL 6 months ago and is still limping around with a brace with months to go before his surgery. Hes only 30.

So unlike OP politicizing it, you agree whatever the system either  (maybe beyond S. Korea) system can’t handle it and it’s time to stop playing this game?

i agree.

My comment was more related to how corona is being dealt with.

Our system is definitely not perfect but it sure won't cripple you financially like your wonderful system can.

I had a scare last month and spent 2 days in the hospital. Had an MRI and then endoscopy done as quick as could be done (needed to fast for 12 hrs and was in).

I can see my doctor whenever I want.

I hear this stuff all the time. Does is all depend on what part of Canada u live in?
