Madness...

We're going to see many, many more business bankruptcies, small businesses, big businesses, and that's going to take a lot of time to recover from to rebuild those businesses and then to bring workers back in and re-engage them in the workforce. That's going to be a much slower recovery for all of us,” Kashkari said.

So he wants the economy to fail so they can institute helicopter money?

More officials, who weren't elected, proposing policies that expand the power of the federal government, and diminish the rights of the states and individuals.

All in the name of being "for the better good".

He should go in the sauna with Fauci. They can jerk each other off.

Par for the course.

That seems to be the consensus... 4-6 weeks of a proper co-ordinated lockdown to contain the spread. We haven't done that yet, hence the virus being out of control. We have the potential for an even worse economic impact in the coming months.

This is the idea that you cannot fix the economy without containing the virus. Your mileage may vary.

If you're talking about the white people meeting where we all figure out new and exciting ways to oppress people of color, thats in Aspen this year, but its tentative for late October so you're good.

If you read deeper into his comments he goes on about how congress has a lot of money to spend on stimulus and relief etc.

Sorry, but I will have to say no thank you.

Yeah, let's go the route we went so far. Let's halfass everything, or worse, do nothing about it and lets get more people sick aka not able to work. That'll help!

Talking about a lockdown, is not having one. The USA talked about it, other countries did it. Countrywide.

That's the difference. Now back to asking for sources and yell away the truth, gogogogo! Dummies. 4

The US restrictions were comparable to those in Europe. This idea that the US didn’t lockdown is fantasy.

What’s the plan after the lockdown? Suppose we do a lockdown and cases get low again. Then we open back up, and cases will grow again, just like what’s happening in Australia and Germany.

There is no plan with these retards. If there was a plan, 99.9% of the general public wouldn’t be walking around fucking clueless

“The beatings will continue until morale improves.”

The lockdown is singlehandedly what destroyed a great economy but sure, a second round will be different..

Then rationalizes that by saying the US can borrow money cheaply now and that once the economy fully reopens and magically starts booming we would pay it back.

From a "top" economist.

Fucking absurd.

It is no mystery who this virus is harming. Advise quarantine and restrictions for THEM.

Remember the early bird shopping hour for senior citizens?? That should be standard practice.

We've got buses running every day to deliver meals to children. Put the kids back in school and divert those resources to the at-risk. Deliver their meals and meds.

So many simple things could be done to mitigate deaths WITHOUT shutting everything down.

But then, this is the government we're talking about. They can't even get the DMV or the fucking post office to run smoothly.

From a "top" economist.

There are a lot of historical examples of economists becoming idealogues.

Stanley Fischer is a great example, as he refused to admit that his structural readjustment policies at the IMF weren't working. He also refused to acknowledge that the U.S. was exploiting third world nations by not abiding by "free trade". (see: Jamaica's structural adjustment requirements, and the U.S. subsidized beef and dairy imports). Stanley was VC of the Fed.

It isn't uncommon for economists to hold on to idealologies like religions.

Seriously, the rational premise of this entire thing in August 2020 is unexplainable.
