jcblass - I hate to break it to all of you, but nothing substantial is going to happen from the Durham investigation. Not because there hasn't been any criminality, but simply because traditional Republicans, and their ilk, don't have the stomach for an all out political street fight such indictments might require. They are just too weak and "respect the frame work of democracy." They are not going to do anything drastic that could, in anyway, shake the foundation, cause doubt, or change the status quo. They are "conservatives" for a reason. They like "gradual change over a long period of time." That's their philosophy and it seeps into all parts of their life. Even criminal investigations.

All this changes when Democrats take over. Every major cabinet member in the Trump administration will have every detail of their life examined by independent investigators. No one will come out unscathed. This is what radicals do, this is the core of their philosophy and it seeps into all parts of their life. Even criminal investigations.

Durham will probably announce "criminal wrong doing" by a handful of outlier people and that's it. All of you people that think Mueller, Clapper, Brennan, Obama, Rice, etc are going to be seriously investigated or indicted will be sorely disappointing.

On the other hand, all of team Trump better lawyer up, because the Democrats will come for them, with or without merit. If there is no merit, they will make it up. They fight to win. The Republicans, outside of Trump and a few allies, are all pussies.

Not sure those generalizations are applicable. The GOP was pretty rabid for Benghazi investigations. Both sides are rabid if they smell blood or really want to push their agenda.

Just different sides of the same coin

You are out of your mind if you think the right is in any way comparable to the left. If the left was in power right now, and it was days before an election, there would be leaks and aggressive action by the justice department.

The Republicans don't want to do anything with the Durham because there is an election. They don't want to be seen as politicizing the investigation. Republicans actually care about the optics of these things, whereas the Democrats would go scorched earth if given such a clear hand at doing damage.

The Democrats will politicize anything, the Republicans are worried about optics and "the integrity of the investigation" simply because they don't want to be that different side of the same coin. This is why the Democrats behaved how they did regarding Trump, and now after three years the Republicans have done nothing with Obamagate/Spygate...one nobody lawyer pled to some bullshit.

And Benghazi should have been investigated, it was current news, however, it was over and done with in a couple news cycles and had zero impact on the election. Again, if roles were reversed and Trump did the same thing, there would be article of impeachment already filed...

The Republicans are not even in the same stratosphere when it comes to political street fights. Too nice, which is why they lose.

Is this a joke?

The person directly under Durham, who has worked with him for decades, just resigned from the investigation because of Barr's pressure to release some bullshit report so that they can get SOMETHING out before the election. Barr, Trump, and other Repubs have been teasing all the imaginary bombshells from Durham CONSTANTLY. Barr goes on TV to say he's going to put out something from the Durham report before the election, even though the investigation isn't complete, and even though EVERY past and current law enforcement professional says you NEVER say anything except "here are the indictments" or "the investigation is closed". He is doing EXACTLY what Comey was (supposedly) fired for.

Repub Ron Johnson is continuing to publicly pursue and tease a Biden investigation that the IC says is LITERALLY part of a Russian disinfo campaign intended to help Trump in the upcoming election. The ONE republican who called him out is Romney, whom Trump supporters dismiss as a RINO.

Oh and then there's Barr dismissing charges and closing cases against Trump cronies, despite admitting under oath he has never personally intervened like that at ANY other time in his career and has given speeches in the past year when he complained about prosecutors not pushing for the stiffest sentences and charges they can.

Bengazi over and done with in a couple news cycles? Starting in 2012 there were TEN investigations and the last one closed in 2016, that's four years. And of course in 2015 that spun off into "but her emails" (hey isn't that just a "process crime"???) which is STILL going on.

What a ridiculous fucking joke of a post, either you are shamelessly lying out your ass or you are just INCREDIBLY misinformed.

He gave Barr Clinesmith as a fall guy.

You are the saddest shill on here. But, in all fairness, Durham should be pressured to get something out because the evidence of wrong doing has been out there for YEARS already. However, again, you're not seeing anything come out because the Republicans actually care about law enforcement. The Democrats would have had their articles of impeachments already written if Trump had spied on some Democrat...Hell, they tried to impeach him over a phone conversation that was rather benign. Imagine if you handed them a grande like spygate.

I mean isn't that exactly why the right turned to Trump? They got tired of being the nice guys finishing last and wanted someone to fight for them and their way of life. Trump did that and gained a huge and loyal following. It's mind-blowing that the mainstream conservatives can't learn that lesson and still want to be the "let's all take it easy and be nice" party when dealing with outright revolutionaries in opposition.

Didnt some of the special counsel team start stepping down as it was winding down as well....?

So to pretend like this is some big thing is laughable

Each lawyer has specialties and worked on specific things. When each of these things finished up the lawyers return to their jobs.

Thinking this is proof of pending charges is nuts my man.

jcblass - I hate to break it to all of you, but nothing substantial is going to happen from the Durham investigation.
