I'd still support loan forgiveness for the youngsters, but it feels good to say that undergrad and grad school are entirely paid off, and nobody paid a dime for it but me (...and the bank who lent me the money, obviously).

Next, to refinance the house, and see if I can get that paid off in the next 10 years or so!

I am not sure what your mortgage interest rate is, but right now is the PERFECT time to refinance to a lower rate.

Good for you!

Congrats man. Paid my federal loans off entirely in February. About 3 years to go on private loans and I'm really looking forward to that day.

Good on you for being responsible. VTFU for that.

But leave the youngsters to the consequences of their own poor decisions.

School loans will be forgotten soon.  Sallie Mae is in major lawsuits.

Congrats man! That is a big deal. Paying off debt is like a huge weight lifted off your chest. When I became debt free it was an amazing feeling.

I can't say my student loan debt was the mountain yours was. I had my parents help some and also a partial athletic scholarship that helped out.

I still ended up with some I had to pay bit was fortunate to have had help.

if kids will be able to default on student loans, rates will go astronomically high. Become less available.
