No they don't... Republicans need about 13 Dem votes in the Senate and need to draft the legislation in such a way to gain those votes. This is how congress works, and both parties will blame the other.

Hopefully all the out of work folks will remember who kept them from getting some cash during desperate times.

When all the laid off workers are out of cash, things could get ugly!

"This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision," said Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) on a Thursday conference call with over 200 members of the House Democratic caucus.

According to Town Hall's Guy Benson, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) are demanding massive collective bargaining powers for unionsmore stringent fuel emissions standards for airlines, and an expansion of wind and solar tax credits.

Source writes, “not only are these completely unrelated to the coronavirus epidemic, they could prevent companies from participating in the loan programs altogether—directly causing unnecessary layoffs.”

This vote got Romney to side with republicans.  Shocked

That piece of shit knows he's one more vote against the GOP from getting primaried out. He burned all his "Look at me!" capital during the impeachment nonsense. He has to be on his best behavior until 2024.

Not only more "democratic", but more "progressive!"

Who'd have thought Trump would be the one trying to get UBI, Student Loans suspended and foreclosures/evictions outlawed and the dems would be opposing it. Truly bizzaro world!

Add that (allegedly) terroristic criminal who kept going to the office knowing he had been exposed.

You know who I mean.

This essentially boils down to BOTH "teams" playing stupid games with this crisis.

The BS that McTurtle tried to push through was a corporate pandering bailout with no oversight to ensure the workers stay employed, and peanuts to actually hell keep civilians afloat. Complete crap.

What the Dems will respond with will be over the top in favor of the worker, with their own agenda on off topic issues added in.

Then they will argue and HOPEFULLY settle on something that works.

Something that still gives needed bailout money to businesses and corporations, but with MUCH needed safeguards to protect the workers and avoid buy down and greedy loopholes. Along with actual stimulus for the working >

this is a sane take. they need to learn lessons from the recent past and be a little more careful with how the bill is written up.

but keep all of the stuff that has nothing to do with the current situation out. save it for another day.

None of you are even remotely aware that the Dems are stopping this bill because Republicans have written it to benefit corporations. It's a bailout for some corporations and for small businesses it's a loan they'll have to pay back. Plus your boy will be collecting some big coin for his failing businesses.

Some of you are real fucktards to actually want this bill to go thru with this in mind.

And by the way, this bill was set to pass until Pelosi (not even a member of the Senate) stepped in and shitcanned it.

#fakenews

She can't shitcan a Senate emergency bill.

The bill didn't have enough support from Dem senators to pass. This was reported even by Fox news.

Sorry.

Come on Ninja, even you have to know that even though they have no authority, they definitely have influence.  The question is, did they use their influence to stall a senate bill that would have passed had they not intervened.

How would adding wind and solar funding help out people in NY and California right now????

Yeah....and how does going after airlines for fuel emissions help .CA and NY?
