Anyway, On July 1st I was driving my family back from Lake Tahoe, coming home from vacation. I was driving, my wife in the passenger seat with ear buds in and watching a movie on her phone and my teenage kids in the back seats (SUV) either sleeping or texting with their friends and listening to music.
It was approximately 1pm and we were heading Southbound on HWY 395 near Lone Pine. For those of you not familiar with the area, its at the foothills of the sierras on one side and the White mountain range on the other.
I was listening to a podcast with my earbuds in and there was very little in the way of traffic on the HWY. The closest car to me was probably 2-3 miles ahead of me and I was travelling at 80mph and I know this because I set the cruise control.
Anyway, being an artist I tend to look out at the scenery and occasionally find inspiration for future paintings from the scenery as it is my favorite place to paint. At one point I glance to my left towards the White mountains which are probably 4-5 miles to my left. As I start to look away back to the road, something catches my eyes about half way up the mountain. I quickly look back at the spot that caught my eye.
Now when I say "something caught my eye" I mean what I saw was something I can only describe as a "glitch". Almost like you would see on tv and almost pixelated. It was quick but It caught my eye so I looked right back at it.
What I saw once my eyes adjusted was what I can only describe as some kind of aircraft that looked like a long necked goose or bird shaped aircraft. They crazy thing about it was that It was perfectly "cloaked" by the mountain in the background. Meaning, it looked like I could see thru it and if it hadn't "glitched" (just the "nose" glitched, not the whole thing as far as I can figure out) then I would never have seen it even if I was staring right at it but because I caught the "glitch" at the perfect moment, I could now see it. I could see the outline of it and it was pacing me at 80mph.
I would look at the road, then look back and it was staying perfectly even with me. Now, I estimate that it was between me and the mountain and probably 2 or 3 miles away from me and as for size, I would estimate that it was larger or about the size of an average passenger airliner.
So, this is lasting I would say a good 2 to 3 minutes. I look where Im driving, then look right back at this "craft". I tried to make out the rear 3rd of the craft but I cannot. I think it was because of whatever kind of cloaking was going on but I can see that there is some structure in the back 3rd part of it but I can't make out any detail or edges.
As I am looking at it I tell myself "I get the feeling Im not supposed to be seeing this thing". Then I think, "wait a minute, Im doing 80mph so how is this thing pacing me perfectly and not falling out of the sky"
I start feeling a little odd and look over to my wife and shes engrossed in her phone, I look in the rear view mirror and my kids are doing their thing on their phones with earbuds in as well.
I look back out and see that it is still there. This is where it gets very weird.
I get this feeling now that it knows I can "see it". I get a chill and start feeling uncomfortable. At that moment, the thing literally does a 180 degree turn away from me and at an impossible speed and angle disappears into the sky over the mountains and away from me. I watched it turn, then watched it as it gained elevation over the mountains and into the sky and disappear up into the sky. It literally did a 180 degree turn and flew almost straight up and disappeared into the sky. Now when it was higher than the mountains (which was almost in an instant) it was black against the sky and no longer "cloaked" by the mountains behind it.
The now black object flew into the sky almost straight up at a speed that was impossible and an angle that didn't make sense.
Anyway, I drove on for hours trying to put together what I had seen. I didn't say anything to my wife and kids as it would have sounded crazy. I didn't tell her until a week ago and she said thank god I didn't tell her at the time because she would have freaked out.
So after thinking about what I had seen and replaying it in my head, I think maybe it was some super secret military aircraft that is light years ahead of what we know of today. I would even admit that it may be based on "alien" technology. But one thing that doesn't make sense is that I got the distinct feeling it knew I was watching it and wasn't supposed to see it.
So that's my "UFO" story.
