Homeless in the cold -
There are several studies showing how porn surfing fucks your brain up. And it's not that doing it at all is wrong or bad for you, but rather with high speed internet the ability to view multiple different scenarios/women in real time (think 15 tabs open in your incognito browser) has the phenomena of fucking your dopamine receptors. Each time you open and are excited by one of those, your brain releases dopamine because it is associating the event with having sex with a new woman, which is an evolutionary trait that releases dopamine. So for the guy mentioning that ancient Greeks looked at porn and jerked off, you're not wrong, but it is a completely different scenario. You fuck your brain up by looking through different videos for an hour, and it's pretty well documented.
If anything, just pick one and stick to it I guess. Or do whatever the fuck you want, but as a fellow OG brethren I would suggest you at least look into what I'm saying, because science is backing it and I found it to be true even before learning about the science behind it.
How is this different than checking a thread you created for responses? Or likes on a post of Facebook or Instagram? Or karma on reddit?
Because your brain considers watching porn to be engaging in Sex from a chemical perspective. The others are compulsive behavior, and probably not healthy, but its not the same thing chemically.
Sexual stimuli is the most "rewarding" thing your brain can experience naturally (in other words, releases the most dopamine). By looking at clip after clip, you're fucking your brains baseline of healthy chemicals, and weakining the receptors associated with those chemicals.
Again, I'm not saying porn is bad, or that I'm opposed to it morally. What is objectively bad for you is watching clip after clip in the same session. If it didn't fuck up the way I feel then I would have never stopped.
Whatever anyone thinks about the subject, there are enough scientific studies to show that is bad for your brain. What do you stand to lose by quitting for one week and trying to make an honest assesment of how you feel after that? It's made a world of difference in my life, I only post this because it might help someone else, I'm not just trying to be right for internet points.
