This is a working replica of an 1873 Colt Single Action that was owned by Ranger Cal Aten. Cal and two other Rangers had gone to the hill country to apprehend the Odle brothers, resulting in a shootout in which both brothers were killed.

As Alvin Odle last dying he gave this pistol to Ranger Aten as Aten was comforting him. The actual pistol is on display at the Texas Ranger Museum.

This one is chambered in .45LC and made by Uberti, distributed by Cimarron. The pictures don't do it justice, and it shoots very well.

I have a more authentic Ranger holster rig on the way from Black Hills Leather, but this one works for now...

I looked up the gun you said it is based on. I didn't know they could be this fancy that long ago.

They're really fun to shoot, especially at Single Action Shooting Society events where you can quick draw... When I first got into it I was really surprised how fast and accurate you can be one handed with these. Very powerful rounds too.

That's the exact one, I was about to post that. Yea, there were some really talented engravers back then man. Mine is laser engraved of course.

Are you doing Cowboy Action stuff with it? And if so, are you going to get a second one? Shotgun? Lever rifle?

Yes, SASS. They only come to town once a year, and it's hard to practice without going out into the middle of the desert... And even then it's tough. No ranges around here allow draw and fire... So I'll probably get my ass kicked again, lol. Those old dudes are good.

My rifle is an old Marlin 30/30 lever, but I'm definitely looking to upgrade

That's called the Ocelot Spin from the Metal Gear Solid games. The spin was designed to be crazy difficult make the character Ocelot who does them seem more inhuman.

I only know of likela handful of guys who have done it but this asian guy did it the best for what I have seen.

There's no way those are real guns though right? Too heavy I would think. I just tried for about an hour and that wears your finger out!
