Yeah I don't know what happened to Shane Black, but this movie was atrocious.

Even if the movie was reshot it would have sucked.

The casting was fucking horrendous.

I’d also like to point out that the CGI was garbage.

Other than that.... cheesy action film.  I don’t have an attachment to the original so I didn’t hate it but I understand why people do.

Just watched this. Holy fuck! What an absolute steaming pile of shit of a movie. It is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and disgraceful to the Predator legacy.

Modern movie making is totally fucked.

It's politically correct, stunningly unfunny even though it tries SO hard to be (why would a Predator movie be funny and have comedians in it?!), with TERRIBLY stiff acting, laughable CGI, and a very questionable plot.

Each scene tries to be more absurd and "unrealistic" than the last.

I don't think I've ever seen such a disgraceful and disrespectful entry in - what was once - a respected franchise.

This is unrecognizable as a Predator movie.

It's like they took the Predator concept, homogenized it for the modern retard, and pissed all over it.

Wow. Stunning. Awful. Its hard to put into words how bad this movie is.

I agree with this 110%... I had such high hopes when i first heard about this shit pile. The cgi was nothing short of embarrassing and the comedy that was attempted is making me squirm with cringe as I write this. Ive seen fan made short films on youtube better than this bullshit

Liyon - ^^^ IIRC, the original script for The Predator was leaked long before the movie came out and was considered garbage by the online fan community.

The Predator was basically another Shane Black action/comedy with the Predator thrown in.

I haven't seen that script, but I'd still take a "Shane Black action/comedy with the Predator thrown in" vs what they ended up with.

This is an R rated movie with a ton of blood and gore. WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A CUTESIE ALIEN DOG IN IT THAT PLAYS FETCH WITH GRENADES? WHAT THE FUCK? KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE.

It's like they tried adding elements into the movie to satisfy pre-teens... In a violence filled R rated movie. Who makes these decisions and ok's the budget to spend on CGI for a goofy alien dog? Holy shit! Morons.

I'm about 30 minutes into this right now and can confirm it is, in fact, a huge shitbomb.

Most of the humor is not good, the whole thing makes zero sense, and the use of the "genius autistic kid" trope is unbelievably terrible.

It is interesting that with so many advances in technology, and general knowledge of filmmaking etc that none of these sequels can begin to touch the original. There's just something about that movie. Part of it is simply the pacing of it imo, the director/writers know that there can be too much of a good thing and treated it like a thriller/horror flick, not simply an action flick.

Lol let me know what you feel about the scene where two of the characters finish each other.

I couldn't believe how bad the dialogue was with the misfit team of soldiers. I get it they're crazy of whatever but holy fuckkkkkk was that unwatchable. One of the worst movies I've ever seen for sure

The only thing I've enjoyed so far is them riffing on the fact that "Predator" doesn't accurately describe a race of sport hunters.

Oh man that last scene indicates they want(ed) to make a new franchise out of this. I imagine that isn't happening after this turd landed.

Yes. The writing was solid as well.  Maybe, just maybe the actors in the original  look and act believable. The guys in current action movies look like guys who play coed frisbee football and soccer on Saturdays in the park.

The one with Adrien Broner was 100x better then this pile of shit comedy paradody of Predator.

The OG is not exaggerating on how bad it was.

Those same advances are why so many big budget films fall flat nowadays.

Filmmakers rely on style over substance.

It's ironic in a way that the better the filmmaking techniques get, the less imaginative and creative everything else becomes.

This. I actually liked that one and wished they continued with something off that rather than a "reboot". That last scene in this one killed it for me.

Shane Black was just the wrong guy to write and direct this, despite his historical association with the series. He really excels at comedic action movies and this did not fit the bill.

Although really, some creative choices, like the little kid and the scientist lady who suddenly becomes a commando, were just flat out bad.
