OtherGround Forums The racists jumped shipped to Republican in 1960s

"The big break didn’t come until President Johnson, another Southern Democrat, signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965.

The change wasn’t total or immediate. During the late 1960s and early ‘70s, white Southerners were still transitioning away from the Democratic party (newly enfranchised black Southerners voted and continue to vote Democratic). And even as Republican Richard Nixon employed a “Southern strategy” that appealed to the racism of Southern white voters, former Alabama Governor George Wallace (who’d wanted “segregation now, segregation tomorrow, and segregation forever”) ran as a Democrat in the 1972 presidential primaries."

So whenever someone mentions the Democrats creating the Ku Klux Klan, and Martin Luther King was a Republican, feel free to read this (real) bit of history.

This makes no sense. So after the republicans freed the slaves and moved forward the civil rights act the racists decided to move over to them?

This lie again? Weak sauce man

https://www.prageru.com/video/why-did-the-democratic-south-become-republican/

In case you decide to ignore the video, here are the claims

1: Republicans had been co.petitive in the south since 1920s

2: only 1 of the 21 democrats that opposed the 64 Civil rights act became republican

3: Nixon lost the deep south in 1968...so much for racists voting republican

Yes, largely as a result of a conscious strategy under Richard Nixon. He and his advisors realized that they could capitalize on segregationalist frustration if they dog whistled about black people. It worked.

I guess Share Blue is pulling out all the stops to try to stop the black voter flight which was already on and poppin' long before Biden just put it on the world stage that they are taken for granted with his latest gaff.

I can see you trying, but its far too late.  You're polishing the brass on the Titanic now, you fucking nimrods.

The civil rights act, filibustered for 74 days by DEMOCRATS. Almost 80% of the no votes were DEMOCRAT.

Yes, because there was an actual outright segregationist candidate, George Wallace, on the ballot, and he won 5 states in the Deep South. Nixon would go on to win those states 4 years later.

You understand the democrats are now an anti-white party where it is offensive to even say non-black people's lives matter?

What you are doing is called DR3 and it makes you look like an absolute ass clown.

Do you seriously believe racist whites vote democrat? It's a party that is openly hostile towards white interests. The 2024 democrat presidential candidate will likely endorse the idea of reparation for blacks i.e. whites must pay money to blacks on the basis of hereditary guilt for a non-crime that happened 150 years ago. The only whites who vote for the democrats are extreme cucks. Trying to make some ridiculous dinesh disouza argument just makes you look like an idiot.
