I've never expected much from a president in their second term. But if ever there was a president who'll go all out when they no longer have to worry about re-election, it's Trump

Sounds a lot like the middle class tax breaks he promised before the mid-terms - A promise he had no intention of keeping but announced in a desperate attempt to woe voters in order to hold on to the House.

Whatever happened to those tax breaks? That's right, they never happened.

This announcement is hardly coincidental with the upcoming Senate trial. Another obvious lie designed to appease his base and deflect from his corruption. (How many times has he said you can't impeach a President under such a great economy? Same principle.)

In other news, have you heard anything about his "new" health plan? Yep, saving that until after his presumed re-election as well. In the meantime his administration is slow-rolling the court case to kill the Affordable Care Act (which would undermine protections for pre-existing conditions) hoping to delay a decision until ... you guessed, after the '20 election.

But by all means, keep eating his bullshit and believing in fairy tales. He's dangling these things like candy to a baby and his followers keep falling for it. In other words, middle class, don't hold your breath waiting for the cuts.

Yeah Kev. Trump has added 4.2 trillion to the deficit but the Dems might give stuff away to normal people instead of corporations and the rich. Outrageous!

From my experience, in general, tax clients ended up with a lower tax bill, all things equal, bc of the trump tax plan

I have nothing to say about the deficit Nd debt the us has, but many taxpayers certainly paid lower taxes when the plan took effect

Trump should give anymore tax cuts until the deficit is addressed.

Maybe he should simply reverse his previous tax cut.

NO

Deficit needs to be addressed with spending cuts NOT revenue.

NO

Revenue growth dropped to its lowest in decades thanks to the tax cuts of 2017.

Revenue AND spending are how you balance a budget.

If he keeps cutting and cutting taxes, it is a complete pipe dream to think he could cut spending enough to do anything significant.

He spends like a Democrat,  but wants to cut taxes like a Conservative. It's a recipe for disaster, long term. It goes directly opposite of his campaign promise to erase the debt, and eliminate deficit spending.

But don't fret, just like his promise to immediately repeal ACA and replace it with the bestest most bigly healthcare program, he just needs you to vote for him again, and this time he will really do it! Lol

by all means KVESH please post the actual data that middle class families did not get a tax cut.

fuck how many families are now paying $0 in federal income tax.. add that to the next lowest group of earners who received the largest % tax break and I would say the low and middle class DID in fact get a tax cut.

how much more relief can some middle class families get that are now paying $0 btw...

What is considered middle class? My taxes went up. I'd just like to see some consistency. Either the deficit matters or it doesn't. There's no reason we should be adding to it during an economic boom. That is just poor financial management, and I'd expect a business genius to know better.

did you gross more money?

can you elaborate what your specific case was and how your taxes went up.. the easy way is to show how all the brackets were reduced but I know there were certain state and local deductions that were changed.

however many people ( not saying you're one of them ) that dont understand how taxes work. my GF was almost not willing to accept a raise because she thought the extra taxes would make her earn less than before the raise.

She was HOT THOUGH!

I didnt vote for him the first time.

But I also dont buy into the notion that if the Governmnet just had more revenue they could handle their expenses. If the governmnet had more tax revenue, they would still find ways to deficit spend.

No. My gross was similar to previous years, but after all was said and done I paid a couple grand more in federal taxes. It certainly wasn't enough to break the bank, but I without a doubt paid more under the new tax plan.
