Cuban-Americans haven't had much love for the Democratic party since Kennedy.  Never talk politics with Cubans unless have nothing else to do that day.

Gonna be a bloodbath.  Fear of loss is a far greater source of motivation than hope for gain.

Its funny how leftists avoid Cubans at all costs. They know that Cubans already went through hell with Communism and don't even try to convince them. They know they will probably get their asses kicked.

I'm in south florida. I had to visit a job site monday that was full of latinos, nothing unusual about that. What did stand out was that one of these guys struck up a conversation about about politics. So I naturally obliged and heard him out. He went on to tell me how important this election was to him and everyone in his community, mostly Cubans & Colombians, and that they were all pro trump and wanted nothing to do with anything that resembled socialism.

I've also witnessed two separate pro trump rallys here in the past week. Almost seems ironic to what most think but the latino vote will be the difference.

Trump takes Florida

Colombians are pretty damn right wing actually.  Probably some of the most right wing in Latin America. They have seen the horrors that have gone on with their neighbor Venezuela and also dealing with the FARC.

One thing that stood out to me in Florida was watching those massive boat parades and other rallies, I was seeing a lot more Latinos than I thought. Saw plenty of Cuban flags being waved with the American flag and remember seeing Venezuelan flags as well.

I expected to see some Latinos, but there were considerably more than I thought would be a normal amount.

Agreed. A coworker is a 55yr old Colombian guy who's got some stories and is very proud to tell you that he's now a conservative American.

There is a boat parade on October 3rd from Sunrise Bay to Lake Boca on the intracoastal. I'm sure the Latin community will be out in full force.

"The poll also shows Biden actually trailing Trump among Latino voters in the state, 46%-50%, a group Hillary Clinton won by nearly 30% four years ago."

It should scare Trump voters that Biden is able to be competitive in Florida DESPITE seeing the Latino vote totally flipped in Trump's favor. Considering there appears to be a 40 point swing in Trump's favor among Latinos, he should be up 15 points in Florida!! That shows you how poorly he must be doing with every other demographic and what could happen in rust belt states that don't have Latinos.

If polls were worth even the tiniest bit, you may have had a point.

2016.  Never forget.

Have we ever seen such disparity in public enthusiasm between presidential candidates?

Trump has these huge parades, caravans, and rallies. High energy. Trump signs everywhere. Biden has pretty much nothing. Low turnout, low energy.

Perhaps, but if this logic was correct, Ron Paul would be the GOP nominee multiple times and Bernie would be there for the DNC (although the DNC is easier to rig with super delegates).

No one had more signs, more enthusiasm and more visible support than Ron Paul. Yet, he lost to Mitt Romney...go figure.

I agree partially that I don't think it necessarily means Trump will win. I've gone from thinking Trump had it in the bag pre-covid to thinking be was surely going to lose.

Now I don't know.

But I don't think the Ron Paul deal is really comparable in scale or disparity when looking at Trump and Biden. Not even close.

Yeah but you’re talking primaries.  In a general election the only other time I’ve seen anything close to this level of enthusiasm for a candidate was Obama the first time.

Cubans hate commies.

Weird, huh...?

It's almost like the more actual experience people have with Communism, the less they like it.

Whereas, kids who've only read about it online and have no experience with it, love it.

Mail in votes will fuck the election anyway, so polling doesn't matter....

I agree. This has been their plan since the pandemic started. Use the excuse that it's too dangerous to vote in person and muck up the entire election with mail in voting.  They are already openly saying they will not concede regardless of the results.

If biden wins, that's the end of it. Any challenge to that is proof trump is refusing to leave office.  If trump wins, refuse to concede the election and claim the too many mail in ballots were discounted and the election is invalid. It stays wrapped up in court and Pelosi becomes potus in the interim if not resolved by Jan 20th.

I think this will get messy either way it goes and likely end up in the courts.

Yea, but since then they accurately predicted the 2018 mid-terms. And actually got the Democrat primaries wrong. "The Squad" all over performed the polls and smashed their rivals by even larger margins, suggesting there might be MORE enthusiasm for the left than the polls are picking up. Combine that with the fact Biden brought in 365 million dollars in largely "single donor, small dollar" donation from his website...August, and you can make a case there are a shit ton of people that will actually pull the lever for Biden. 365 dollars in one month, off largely individuals is stunning. The previous record was 160 million by Obama in 2008.

Right, and in August of that year, Obama brought in 160 million dollars in donations, breaking all records. In August of this year, Biden shattered that record and brought in 365 million dollars in a single month...Key point, most of those donations, were "single donor, small dollar, donations via his website." So that's people just clicking, "donate, 50, donate 100"...the fucker raised 365 million. Just for comparison, Obama and Romney both raised about 110 million each in August of 2020. Biden and his supporters, blew that number out of the fucking water.

So if you look at the donations and the stable polling for Biden (nearly a constant lead now), coupled with the passion (violence) we are seeing in the streets of every major city, you can make a strong case there is a historic level of enthusiasm for this ticket. Not because they like Biden, but because they hate Trump.

Bloomberg said he is going to spend at least $100 million of his own money to help Biden win Florida and would rally additional support and money from others big players.

Biden is in Florida and obviously concerned at the numbers since he was supposedly in a comfortable lead in Florida a while back.

Thankfully in clasic dnc the staffers will spend 98 million on admin costs and the other two on probably youtube videos.

It's going to be wild for sure, and we all know it.

Honestly, this could be the doomsday clock at 11:59 for us. I've got my popcorn (and edibles) in hand watching it go down.

As far as in person vs mail in voting, what would be the most interesting is if we see clear indications on individual states levels that in person voting swung heavily in favor of Trump, and mail in voting swung heavily in favor of Biden. Now I can see legit reasons why this would happen, but I imagine that regardless of who wins it will be an issue.

Mail tampering vs russian hacking and what not.
