With everything going on in Virginia with guns I felt this was a good time to return to the OG and do an AMA.

My name is John Crump.  I am Virginia State Director for Gun Owners of America.  I am also a journalist at AmmoLand.com and Soldier of Fortune.

I am a long time lurker.  My old account "crumpy" is locked and the account before that one was lost to time.  I have been around since 2001.

So ask me anything

Can you give me a high level overview of the situation out there? I kinda have an idea, but a summary from your point of view would be great.

I know GOA and other pro-gun groups have had many issues with the NRA in the past, but 1) are things as precarious for the NRA and its influence as the MSM makes it look, and 2) will other groups, like GOA, be able to effectively fill any void the NRA leaves?

How concerned are you about site security and the potential for one "overly enthusiastic" person to kick off some chaos?

I am 100% behind what is happening there right now but I can't help from thinking that one dipshit could really fuck this up.

Appreciate your coming back for this.

Down on the Southwest corner of VA here and I'm wondering just how far these Dem nuts are willing to push. Hoping that you all can get the Va supreme court to grant an injunction to strike down this ignorant state of emergency imposed.

Do you think there will be time to get it addressed?  Also, how do you see the rally going if a massive amount of people refuse to abide by the ban on the 20th?  Keep fighting the good fight!

I am average size for the OG

What happened in Virginia can be summed up by watching Rocky Mountain Hiest.

Basically a bunch of Bloomberg funded groups groups came in and dumped tons of money in Northern Virginia, Tide Water, and Richmond.  They are taking marching orders from groups like Mom Demand Action and Everytown.

Virginia has always been very 2A friendly.  Now they are proposing extremely anti-gun laws.  96% of the localities are against the bills (127 2A Sanctuaries).  The gun owners do not plan to comply and are turning out by the 1000s to board meetings across the state.  An estimated 50,000 to 120,000 gun ownera are coming to Richmond on Monday.  60 busses from all corners od the state are filled.  Buses are even coming from as far as Connecticut.

Northam in the anti-gun crowd is scared so he issued a state of emergency to ban guns from Capitol Square.  GOA and VCDL asked the courts for an injunction because you can only restrict guns in a shelter during an emergency.  Northam claimed the whole state is a shelter.  Unfortunately we got an activist judge so we lost.  We have appealed to the State Supreme Court and presented our side.  We are hoping to hear something tomorrow.

I don't think there will be violence Monday, but I also can't rule it out.

"I don't think there will be violence Monday, but I also can't rule it out."

Have everyone show up unarmed and do a protest march. Can't be that hard, can it?

As far as the NRA, I am not going to bad mouth them.  We don't need to tear down other gun groups.  I am an NRA member.

If something was to happen to the NRA we would be able to fill the void.  The founder of SOF is an NRA board member.

The average Virginian is pissed off.  Even the non gun owners.  There are other issues like trying to ban single family homes that have them worked up.

I'm going to remain skeptical that you are who you say you are until I see proof. Not because of anything you've said and done specifically, but I'm generally skeptical because one could claim to be anyone.

I never thought he was a great matchmaker. He found some amazing talents (recruiting Mo Smith, bringing in Chuck Liddell, so many others).

But look at what he did when he brought in Bas Rutten. He immediately matched him with two grapplers. Then after they had hyped Rutten so much, they had to keep standing him up (and giving him a b.s. decision) so that he could win anything.

Perretti was always putting strikers against grapplers instead of the more interesting striker vs. striker and grappler vs. grappler match-ups.

I think we will hear from the Supreme Court in the next couple of days.  It will probably be just three judges that decide.  We will see.

As far as complying, I am not plan ing on complying with the law and not many will.  There are massive non-compliance in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.  I can't see VA being any different
