Awesome.  I'm taking a trip to the Chicago area tomorrow and I'm hoping to find some for myself.

Old Grand Dad Kentucky Bourbon

The OGD 114 is fantastic for a $20 bottle.

How difficult is it to find the Weller bourbons (Special Reserve, Antique, and 12 year) where you live? It's nearly impossible in Wisconsin, but I scored a couple bottles of Special Reserve over the weekend in Chicago. One bottle was from a mom and pop shop and the other was from Binny's.  Those were the only two bottles that I came across and I hit up 7 or 8 stores.

Depends on the area you live in.

Minnesota - Never Hits the Shelf

North Dakota - I bought a case of Weller Special Reserve and the guy running the store gave me a case discount.   It came out to less than 20$ per bottle after tax.

I just got a bottle of Weller Antique 107 this past week.  Giving it to an OGer that can’t find any where he lives.

WLW, Weller 12, and Weller CYPB are almost impossible to get without having connections.

What part of Wisconsin?   Maybe I can be of assistance.

Powdered Toast Man -

I've got a bottle of Blanton's, Four Roses Single Barrel, and Colonel E.H. Taylor.

I had Four Roses last week while I was in Atlanta, I really enjoyed it. Any recommendations on something similar?

If you can find a better bourbon for 18$ a bottle I’d like to hear about it.

I’ll be in Green Bay over the holidays.

Anything in particular that you are looking for?

As far as bourbon hunting in Green Bay, Woodman’s gets decent stuff during the week.

The Festival Foods gets Eagle Rare for around 23$ per bottle as well.  It’s hit or miss there but I’ve walked out with some decent stuff.

Got a bottle of Caribou Crossing from Superior Discount Liqour over thanksgiving.

The Weller 12 year or Antique would be great if you can get your hands on either of them.  Let me know what you would be interested in for a trade.

Wild Turkey 101

But honestly, I'd just as soon spend the extra money and get something that tastes better and has more depth.

To each their own.

WT101 is a good value, but I honestly prefer Weller SR.

The best part about bourbon is how diverse the options are.  You can run a 90 proof wheater like Weller or a 135 proof barrel proof like Stagg Jr and have completely different tastes.

Or Four Roses yellow label (label no longer yellow)

people only seeking it out because it’s hard to get, which is how BT wants it

I picked up a bottle of A Midwinter's Nights Dram last night.  I've read good things about it and I'm looking forward to breaking it open.

Wild Turkey

I enjoy Wild Turkey 101. I find it smoother.
