I see The Conjuring listed, I love that one.

Babadook I like too, but the kid is annoying af.

Haven't watched The Lighthouse yet, but I've only heard good things on podcasts.

Tusk, was weird af.

You guys do realize that the kid in The Babadook was meant to be annoying af right? The story was an allegory of his mother's resentment of him due to the fact that her husband died taking her to the hospital to have him. Her resentment, and resulting anger formed the psychological presence that manifested itself as 'The Babadook'. She created it and only she could beat the monster by letting go of her bitterness.

The entire movie we're meant to understand how she could be so hateful (and at times neglectful) of him by making the kid so completely over the top annoying, that at the end of the day we're not sure we even blame mom at all.

I’ve always said The Babadook is a terrible horror flick.

It’s a brilliant movie about grief and loss though.

Much like Open Water was a shitty creature feature, but a brilliant movie about the breakdown of a marriage.

Babadook was marketed horribly in my opinion, it’s not scary, just really sad

Personally, I find a lot of the recent pg13 horror flicks to be bad.

Most are just bland. They don't even get "so bad it's good".

While not the worst horror movie I’ve seen it was recent and terrible...

The Open House with that Dylan Minnette kid

What seemed like a solid premise just turned into a bland “huh?” Wasted opportunity.

Super mismarketed, but William Friedkin (director of The Exorcist) said it was the scariest film he ever saw.

I watched the movie and it was really about depression or whatever..

The worst horror film is Rob Zombie's Halloween or House of 1000 Corpses. Both are utter shit.

There’s so many bad ones. The last “bad” horror movie I saw in theaters was The Turning. It was weird, it was confusing, there’s a ghost rape and a really confusing end. And it wasn’t scary. Gretel and Hansel was pretty bland and horrible too. Super slow, weird ending.

I mean, they’re there to appeal to middle school kids who can’t see r movies.

I'll have to add one more. "It Comes at Night." It's the only time I've gone to the theater and felt totally ripped off.

If you're into horror movies check out the kill count series on the YouTube channel Dead Meat. Highly entertaining!

Dangerousdoug - Yes watch both 1 and 2. Great flicks. the way they set everything up is super creepy and well done. not just torture porn like most think. I remember hostel 3 got the best reviews but i remember that 1 being the weakest of the 3 imo as it has nothing to do with slovakia or hostels and takes place in vegas but an interesting twist. Ill have to check it out again. but 1, def watch hostel 1 and 2.

theres an alternate version with a different ending to hostel 1 u can find online thats a lot more fucked up than the original. cheers.

Hostel 1 was set in Amsterdam, not Vegas IIRC

Edit: Amsterdam and then Slovakia. Maybe I misinterpreted what you're saying, hard to tell if speaking about part 1 or 3 since you used 1 as opposed to "one" if you were speaking about part 3.

Drag me to hell was great, it's supposed to be horror/comedy. Didn't Sam Raimi direct?

Also, no one has said Troll 2 wtf.

Someone did mention Manos, but Manos and Troll2 go hand in hand in worst movie ever and worst horror movie ever.

Rawhead Rex. The monster "baptises" a dude by pissing on him.
