I think times 20-30. It's either affecting way more than they're saying or they know it's going to because it's a leaked bio weapon from the facility in Wuhan. The Chinese response is way out of line for the official numbers. Pouipoui posted pics from Zhuhai being a ghost town and it's 600 miles away.

For now I'm kind of ignoring the China numbers, although even the reported change in deaths is alarming.

There is now one additional death outside of China, in Japan, as Japan sees a massive spike in identified cases.

So the death rate outside of China is still not close to what China is reporting.

A huge proportion of the 20% are undoubtedly the early cases before they knew it was a massive outbreak and before they started treating people for it correctly.

In the recent weeks doctors determined the correct procedure to treat it. That percentage should come way down. If you remove early cases from the calculation it's undoubtedly much lower now as a percentage.

What if you add all the deaths they haven't reported (if you  believe the word on the streets).  Might not be 20% but its not 2% either.

that's really not a significant statistic yet.  we're what, 4 weeks into this?  a huge number of the current infections will (hopefully) recover.

no doubt this has an abnormally high death rate, but it's not 20%.
