Everything in that article has been said elsewhere. Probably just the sun trying to increase readership.
But cases outside side of China (because their numbers are not true), shows that the virus is 2-3 times more infectious and at a minimum 10x more fatal than the flu.
The CDC has said that ~80% of cases are treatable at home and ~20% require hospitalization. Harvard epidemiologists have said that 40-70% of the world will have the virus by year end. Even at the 1% death rate (low end of the range) that will be 10s of millions of dead people.
More troubling is hospitals. Even assuming all healthcare workers show up to work, in the US that would be 20+ million people, at the low end, requiring multi week hospital level care, this year. Here, there are 925,000 beds available in the entire country. How do those people get care? What about the rest of the people who need care for other issues? The army mobilized to build field hospitals? Who staffs them to treat 20+ million people?
china is having this very problem. When their real numbers come out, it will show how inadequate their care was.
So yeah, if this completely runs wild, most of us will live, but the rapid death of millions worldwide will be a problem and many more will die because good care wasn’t available due to he system being overloaded.
Thanks China, for manufacturing the disease and being stupid enough to let it escape your bio lab.
This is scary as shit. I wonder how Harvard got those numbers ? That's definitely enough ppl to definitely impact the entire economy. Better start stocking up on bottled water and other items as the grocery stores will be absolutely massacred. Hell here in Texas , gas stations were running out of gas over hurricane Michael. That actually got out of hand as ppl had to stay home from work.... Just imagine if they can't contain this virus by years end.
