Sorry op. That really sucks.  I think it's time you take a long look in the mirror and fully commit yourself to making changes.

I'll be rooting for you.

Gambling is probably the most insidious and evil form of addiction out there. There are no direct physical side effects, especially if you’re gambling legally. You can pull the financial security and future out from under your family in a single night.

Nobody ever looks like they’re having any fun when they gamble like that.

I go to the casinos close by once in awhile.  But i'll stop if I'm down just $20.  After I've lost that much it's not fun.  But what I do enjoy is watching other people gamble.   It's like watching a train wreck with some of these gamblers.  I've seen individuals hit a $5000 slot machine jackpot and pump it all back in within an hour.

My best friend for 20 years is a gambling addict. Has stole money/items from anybody that ever gave him a chance. Has lost everyone in his life that ever meant anything to him. Wife, kids, family and friends. Got addicted to meth and spent time in jail recently.

Another acquaintance when I was growing up had bad gambling issues as well. Had an amazing government job making crazy bank. Perfect wife and 3 beautiful girls. They found him hanging in their garage one day. Dude owed so much money one day he just said fuck it. Wife had no idea.

I worked writing software for one of the biggest casino corps there is. It was specifically designed to target elderly people in smaller markets, like the Midwest. To get them to come in every day with the promise of various rewards.

The pay was good but I always felt like I was helping a bunch of scummy people.

I moved out of a room I was renting when my roommate, who looked a lot like me, was grabbed at our front door. They drove him to Barstow (the desert) and made him dig a hole at gun point and lay face down. They took a picture and sent it to his parents with a note saying he was going to die in that hole if they didn’t pay his debts. They paid and he kept gambling.

Holy shit. Mind telling us more about this? Was this a recent event? Didn’t think these sort of Hollywood scenarios really happened. I know a recovering gambling addict who would talk to Me about his mistakes and you could tell he’s telling anyone and everyone willing to listen “don’t make the mistakes I made in my life, be wiser and learn” another guy I worked with had this addiction. Anyone near his working station would find at least 15-20 scratch off tickets a day in the area. Vacation time was spent in AC or an off track betting place. One of the few addictions that creeps me to the core.

Just do like one of my relatives does and call/text people with some ridiculous excuse why you need to "borrow" some money.  I think my favorite was when they were on their way to pay their bills (all in cash, lol) and somehow lost it in the parking lot at the grocery store.  Must have fell out of their pocket.  We're talking 800 bucks.  People totally pay their bills in cash like that and don't gamble it away.

But in all seriousness, if your post is genuine, please get help.  It's so sad to see what gambling addiction does to someone and to think what their life could have been like if they weren't always wasting their money.
