Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez was quick to pronounce young democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the "future" of his party following her surprising primary win in June.

Since that time, she's offered "pants on fire" takes about the U.S. unemployment rate, supported and then immediately retracted that support for a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians, confessed to not being an "expert" on geopolitics after calling the Israeli military massacrers, and fretted about "black sites" run by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

And that's after less than a month!

The internet wasnt around when most politicians were her age and off spouting lies and half truths and just winging it in interviews. They had time to polish their bullshit before getting on national TV>

What about when the Deputy Chair calls her the future and a lot of other politicians on that side start calling for the same insanity she does?

She's a young Sarah Palin.  Watch the media treat her as a media darling in contrast to Palin

Please keep pushing her out there! At first I was kind of impressed a late  20something bartender was able to upset an established dude like Crowley but then I heard her talk. And the more I hear from her the more I am sure she is an idiot that has 0 clue what she's talking about on just about any topic.

This.

I hope they keep pushing her as the new face of the Dems. Will ensure not just a Trump victory in 2020 but also whoever follows him in 2024.

What I found the funniest is even here on the OG the far left guys defended her and said "She's not a real socialist, she's a democratic socialist! You guys just don't know what that means!!!"

Then even that turd Vox couldn't polish the message that the DSA group she is a member of put out...although they tried.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/6/27/17509604/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-democratic-socialist-of-america

Jeff Stein wrote about the DSA in 2017 so Vox could clear up some misconceptions.

What does DSA believe in?

Like most socialist organizations, DSA believes in the abolition of capitalism in favor of an economy run either by “the workers” or the state — though the exact specifics of “abolishing capitalism” are fiercely debated by socialists.

Stein gave more specifics:

In practice, that means DSA [members advocate] ending private ownership of a wide range of industries whose products are viewed as “necessities,” which they say should not be left to those seeking to turn a profit. According to the DSA’s current mission statement, the government should ensure that all citizens receive adequate food, housing, health care, child care, and education. DSA also believes that the government should “democratize” private businesses — i.e., force owners to give workers control of them — to the greatest extent possible.

But DSA members also say that overthrowing capitalism must include the eradication of “hierarchical systems” that lie beyond the market as well. As a result, DSA supports the missions of Black Lives Matter, gay and lesbian rights, and environmentalism as integral parts of this broader “anti-capitalist” program.

“Socialism is about democratizing the family to get rid of patriarchal relations; democratizing the political sphere to get genuine participatory democracy; democratizing the schools by challenging the hierarchical relationship between the teachers of the school and the students of the school,” said Jared Abbott, a member of the DSA’s national steering committee. “Socialism is the democratization of all areas of life, including but not limited to the economy.”

But the DSA is not a formal political party. Rather, it claims to be “the largest socialist organization” in America and tries to work within the Democratic Party to weaken capitalism, not end it.

Yea....one nominee defines the party

Of course it's not representative of the whole DNC or Democrat voters no one person is. But when you have the head of the DNC Tom Perez calling her the future of the party it is pretty significant. The DNC is pushing further and further left and it's not just Ocasio-Cortez that shows this. Keith Ellison is deputy chairman and was nearly the chairman of the party. The DNC is actually embracing Bernie Sanders more and more (since screwing him out of the nomination). There is plenty of evidence that this is where they are heading as a party.

you got to admit, there is no better sounding anthem. although it's better when you hear the Russian choir do it.
