yesterday i had a workout with 70lb kb russian swings.  it was a 15 minute amrap, completed 8 rounds.

 

3 strict ring muscle ups

10 20lb wall balls

15 70lb russian kb swings

 

Total kb swings = 120

 

It was brutal.  If you guys are looking to add a cheap piece of equipment to your house get a set of olympic rings.  great for arms, traps, lats and chest.  you can buy a pair for around $20

Muscle ups have always eluded me, perhaps because my max pullup number is 10.

second time doing tgu and definitely notice my right side is ok with a 35 lb kb, left side is a bit of a struggle. I blame (credit?) being a right janded fapper

Swings in.  Quads/Glutes feel like i've been in a motorcyle wreck.  The TGUs yesterday were brutal

I’m weak. Added swings to my shoulder work out—3 sets of 20 with 54lbs. This gym doesn’t have anything heavier.

My 55 lb kb is the biggest one I have.  I only use it or 2 hand swings.  Crap now I feel extra weak. 

 

And here I thought I was being all manly doing kettlebells.  Oh well it’s a start

I am prepping myself for the new 30 day challenge, so I've been doing all three movements back to back. I can already tell it's gonna be a gamechanger.

This morning's workout:

40 one armed swings (20 left, 20 right)

4 Turkish get ups (2 left, 2 right)

20 Clean / Squat/ Press (10 left, 10 right)

.... rest and repeat. Did two sets, but when the challenge starts on Monday I'll be doing three sets of each.

You’re a beast Chaz!  How long is it taking you to complete 2 rounds?  Have you tried 3 yet?

I go pretty leisurely, but it takes me 30 minutes. But I'm making coffee in between sets and stuff like that.

I haven't tried 3 sets yet, but I've already committed myself to the thirty day challenge so I'll be doing them soon enough (starting Monday). My bones are hurting just thinking about doing C/S/P every single day. Fuck.

Also I only have one rest day per week (Sunday). But you have to remember I'm not doing a whole other workout routine like you. All I do is my morning kettlebell, and when I get a chance I do rings or stuff at the park to build up to my elusive Pullup. So my routine is light enough that I go six days a week, with only one day off.

Agree 100% ... I have a set of gymnastic rings that I take to the park and hang from trees and stuff. They are amazing

I am still a big fatass despite consistenly doing kettlebells for several months now. So I can't actually lift my weight on those gymnastic rings. But what I do is a beginner routine, where I lean back and with my feet touching the ground do like an angled pullup. I do the same thing with pushups, which leaves my abdominals trembling. I also do deadhangs and leg lifts from dead hang.

Still, I cannot wait to build myself up to a pullup. There are so many cool workouts I want to learn how to do on the rings. But it's gonna take time. For now: still just trying to work my way to a single pullup! hehe

54 lbs is plenty. PLENTY.

If it gets easy, bump it up to one-armed swings.

Don't worry dude. You're still in the "gut-check" phase. It's always like this when you start doing new movements, no matter what they are.

Just stick in there and keep grinding. Every day you will be a little less sore and a little more powerful. Keep it up.

Today I did a total of 80 one-arm swings, 8 turkish get-ups, and 40 clean/ squat/ press. So I am right here with you, grinding it out in the trenches. Don't give up.

Hold the line, and get after it!

You will get that pull up.  My brother uses those TRX handles.  He travels for work and takes them everywhere. He’s in great shape and in his mid 50’s.  He was a big fella for a while too.  You’ll get there

Get a second 24kg bell and you'll be pressing them both over head and doing double swings with them in no time. 

Then you can moveup to the 32 kg ones.

Had to be at the hospital all day today. Brought my 35lb kettlebell. #repsonreps

Actually I've gotten my yoga-loving sister into KB's too. She did 4 sets of Clean/ Squat/ Press in the waiting room, on a 16 lb kettlebell, with perfect form.

Ill catch up after I finish this one.  I’m a little ocd about finishing a program when I’ve started it.  I have three and a half weeks left in my regular workout too so this should line up nice.
