That’s awesome. I would join but it’ll get in the way of my current athletic goals.

Was able to complete 400 swings today.  I used a 20kg bell.  Pressed for time and a bit out of shape, I really struggled with the last 100.  Used push/pull exercises in between sets like dips and very strict crossovers.  My grips are not anywhere near what they were last year, so no pullups or rows between swings.
Good luck everyone else getting into shape!

Finished with a 3 min plank, good times!

Neil McCauley - This is way too easy lol. Like s warm up for s work out. Try following the extreme kettle bell workout DVD but do it Mon Wed Friday

We got a bad ass.

I can do this entire week of workouts in about 20 minutes. Seriously one workout of the extreme kettlebell dvd is more volume and its an hour. This is a joke.

Yea dude it sounds like you should sit out on this challenge. You are WAY past my level. Good for you man keep it up!

Sorry dude. Wasnt trying to hijack. Continue on! More exercise the better.

Heres a tip for yall scruggling with grip due to sweaty hands or if the kettlebell hurts your callases ... take an old sock and cut the toe end off of it and wear it over your hand leaving your thumb out. It works great so you dont fling the kettlebell through your tv or walls etc.

Day one complete. I’m adding these to my regular workout.  Definitely added some fun.   I forgot how important technique is on kB cleans.  Took a while before I stopped banging the kB on my wrist

Got my hundred clean, squat, presses in today. Used a 35lb bell and broke it up into sets of 40/40/20, alternating arms each 10 reps.  Felt good.

Yea!!! Dude that's great to hear. This is IMO the hardest of the three workouts we'll be doing.

Tomorrow it's 20 Turkish Get Ups. I will be going back down to my 35 lb kettlebell for these until I have perfected the technique (having difficulty stabilizing my shoulder with the 53 lber during the transition movements).

Get after it!

Man TGU’s are the hardest exercises in this workout by far for me.  My form sucks.

A few months ago i started doing TGUs as a warmup.  I just set a timer for ten minutes and do as many as possible.  Doing it with a 32kg bell now without any issue

That's pretty intense for KB work.

Kudos if you can make it through 30 days.

Every year I do "10,000 swing challenge" from Dan John.  Thinking I may start up this week.

Good luck OP

I actually did this challenge already last month, but with my old 35 lb kettlebell.

It was difficult at first. But I noticed three things that really stood out:

1. I felt myself getting WAY stronger. My whole body started working together and I could feel myself becoming more physically powerful.

2. I would work out every morning, and after that I felt super energized for the whole day. 20 minutes of swinging a heavy iron ball around is the perfect way to start the day.

3. I was surprised to notice significant improvements in my mobility. I am a pretty fat guy. Bending over, twisting around, squatting down, balancing myself have all become significantly easier for me. Turkish get ups are particularly useful for this IMO.

So I did 30 days with my 35 lb bell. But now I have a new 53 lb beast, and I'm worried that I've bitten off more than I can chew. I did a CLEAN/ SQUAT/ PRESS workout with it, and I nearly puked after each set (only ten reps on each side). This shit is HARD for me. That's one of the reasons I am posting this challenge- knowing that there are other guys grinding it out every morning will keep me motivated!

As a fellow fatass I too too have jumped in. Half the weight though, as I am just getting back into working out.

TGU’s are my downfall.  I have to break it down into many steps and talk myself through them like I am a toddler.

Oh I’ll have a YouTube tutorial playing along my side while I do them. Haha

That's me right there! It's like my brain cannot string together the sequence and hold weight at the same time.

Awesome! You are only one day behind (this is Day 2) so actually it wouldn't be hard to catch up. Do the 100 clean/ squat/ press and 20 Turkish Get Ups today and you'll be all set.

And the Clean/ Squat/ Press is done with one kettlebell. I recommend you do 10 on one side, then 10 on the other side for one set of 20. Repeat for 5 sets. 20 x 5 = 100.

I agree with both of you, but trust me it gets much easier with practice.

I am well over 100 pounds overweight, and TGUs were nearly impossible for me when I started. But nothing has done more to improve my mobility, coordination, and balance than Turkish Get Ups. Incredible bang-for-your-buck. Definitely top 3 kettlebell movement.
