Seriously wtf happened to this guy? I remember at one point people placing him in the top P4P discussion. Did USADA spell out his demise?

We Are All One Mean Species - Is Weidman's worse because he is getting KO'd left and right whereas Barao for the most part is losing decisions?

Solid point and a very good question.

Weiman has only lost to top-5 guys. His last win was over Kelvin just a couple years ago right? Lost to Romero, Jacare, Reyes, Mousasi.... KILLERS. I can’t name anyone Barao lost too, last fight of his I remember was looking awful against Mitch Gagnon and I knew Tj had stolen his soul.

The guy had a ton of fights, just because you're winning doesn't mean it doesn't take its toll.

Barao is like 42 years old in fight years. His style proved to not be sustainable.

In hindsight, how can you blame a guy like GSP for preemptively changing his style to avoid a situation like this?

Clauia Gadelha breaking up with him, along with USADA, was the beginning of the end.

Wtf I didn’t know that even happened. Had to go watch, thanks. Yeah Big Rig had a terrible fall from grace too, but also has only lost to top guys and still had wins over Matt Brown and Hector Lombard sprinkled in after losing the title. Barão is much worse imo

Bj Penn's decline has been pretty hard to watch. Koscheck's another one that fell pretty hard

Weidman is 5-1 in his last 6 fights.

Renan lost 5 in a row.

Both started fading badly when USADA came in and still never recovered.

This right here. Barao was olddddd in fight years by the time he was 30. Same with Aldo

Indeed. Penn now reminds me of Mickey Rourke's character in The Wrestler.

Is she now like the Kardashian of the UFC? Get touched by the Claudia curse?  Ortega may never win again.

Idk how they’re even still offering Christ fights.

People forget how well Weidman dispatches kelvin gastellum handily at Barclays. I’d say the fall of barao is way more extreme than weidmans losses against top teir guys.  Barao dropped to journeyman literally after he lost to tj and USAda got to the scene

Yeah, with his non-violence views that makes no sense.

Handily? He got flash KO'd by the last pick of TUF

Was Barao even that good if you look at his huge undefeated streak is was against a bunch of nobodies. Don't get me wrong he won against some names Faber being the best obviously and a very young Michael McDonald. The rest like Eddie Wieland, Scott Jogernson, Brad Pickett have name value but were past there prime coming into the UFC.

Barao really had a easy run to his title fight.

I think the competition in Baraos division had gotten 10 times better. To me he looks about the same but he's facing much better fighters. His limited hand and foot speed negate many of his strong points.

Barao is worse because they kept him around longer, but he had a couple wins too.

Johny got so out of shape it was absolutely insane. And his couple wins were some really terrible fights. Lombard really was the biggest stinker of an investment that the UFC has kept around as long as they did.
