Well, that should settle. Kudos to Cain for recognising it.

Hilarious how some people at the time were trying to call it an early stop.

Yeh I never understood why so many couldn't see it for what it was. It was clearly the punch that buckled his knee

From the original tv angle you couldnt see the punch landed so the confusion makes some sense.  Did Joe ask him about it in the post fight interview or did they say his knee gave out?

Wasn't he harping on about how he never even got punched, it was just his knees for months after the fight??

I don't know if anyone suffered more after usada then cain... I use to think he would go down as the most unstoppable heavy weight of all time

Why? He was pretty damn good at one time, his body didn’t hold up tho

Oh, he was good no doubt, but people were calling him the greatest HW ever etc. when the guy really only fought a handful of opponents, some of them several times.

He got a lot of fame for the beating he put on JDS in fights 2 and 3, but as I pointed out previously, JDS offered zero threat of the takedown. Much easier to be dominant against a guy who's gameplan is one dimensional. Even then, JDS still held a KO win over him.

Cain was a great fighter, but one of the all-time great HW's as Rogan etc. liked to constantly sing? No way.

Stipe takes him down at will, but this time finishes it.

JDS at his peak was arguably the most talented HW ever.   Cain was able to beat him soley because of his relenteless pace.  Remember JDS stuffed like 6 or 7 takedowns in the 1st round, but Cain just keep shooting until he got JDS tired.

It might be argued that the shots that Stipe survived in the first fight, could potentially put him out the second time around as he has a year+ in sparring and a KO loss to DC since then.
