UnderGround Forums Coleman's entire career was a desperate single leg

Change my mind.

Coleman had no fight IQ or strategy outside of getting his opponent to the ground. His ground and pound was simply the only logical advancement of position.

He's the type of guy who probably tried to sit on kids in elementary school.

If you're the best ground and pounder of your era, taking them to the ground IS fight IQ. Unless he was fighting someone capable of reliably beating him from a bottom position on the ground, there is no other strategy that makes sense. It would be like telling Damian Maia to stand and slug.

I don’t think you know what desperate means...

he imposed his will for years. Dominated in wrestling and pounded people on the ground.

And taking the fight to the ground and pounding people out is a strategy and shows fight iq. He was aware of his strengths and weaknesses . Don’t see your point

Conor would be headbutted and extruded through the fence like a clove of garlic through a press.

What's with all the revisionist history, flip the script, "Harry Potter was the villian and Voldemort was the good guy" retard threads lately?  OP, were you just sitting around eating your boogers and one of them pissed you off, and you thought it sort of looked like Mark Coleman?

For fuck sakes.  Can we stop shitting on the legends?  Needs to be some banhammers swung around here.  Fuck anyone who shits on Mark Coleman and his fucking accomplishments.  Also, GSP isn't ducking anyone.  Fuck you GiGa and GiGa's alt account.

So what you are saying is Coleman, the Godfather of ground and pound, has low fight I.Q because he tried to take people down and ground and pound them.

Thats your angle, really?

Op is correct. Not like Coleman never won any fights, titles, or major tournaments.

He was the the best fighter in the world. Seems pretty smart. Game changing afterwards doesn’t make you bad. Football in 1930s rarely passed. Doesnt mean those teams suck

Mark also showed quite good, and much improved, footwork and boxing at the Pride GP2000.

If you were to fight Mark Coleman, I'd bet your sweet ass would be desperately drilling takedown defense.

You know why that is? It's because you know exactly what that man intends to do to you.

He's the Godfather of GNP.

In the old days fighters didn't have the luxury of preparing for a single opponent months in advance. Mark is a tournament champion.

So what you're saying is that he has a very particular set of skills? Skills acquired over a very long career? Skills that make him a nightmare for people like you, Shogun, Don Frye, Igor Vovchanchyn, Fujita, Dan Severn, Gary Goodridge, etc.

Fedor, Noguiera, Crocop, and Randy should've taken him lightly?
