UnderGround Forums Connor - UFC Rumor

Ran into a MMA promotor at the Del Lago Casino playing ultimate Texas hold em.    He said the real beef between Connor McGregor and the UFC/WME is the fact that the UFC still owes Connor 50 million from the Mayweather fight.    As the promoter for Connor McGregor the UFC got paid Connor's end and the UFC has to cut a check to Connor which the UFC has failed to do in full.   Has anyone else heard this rumor?

INteresting. Maybe the remainder is contingent on a return the octagon?

Is this why Ali said that Conor is running out of money?

I was hoping you had some inside information.    Another question is the money that Connor is owed the reason for his behavior of late.

Not saying it's the case here - but it's not uncommon in entertainment for managers and/or promoters to hold payments for a year or so to collect interest that they keep for themselves. Vultures everywhere.

I don't think the UFC co-promoted

He was given a conditional release and had to pay the UFC a percentage of his earnings.

McGregor Sports and Entertainment was the promoter on his end and his money was probably paid to that, which he took his and had to pay the UFC with it.

If anything it could be the opposite, he owes the UFC

This is what I was thinking.

UFC banner was never shown at anytime during the May/MAC fight.

At least I don’t remember.

It would be pretty shitty for UFC to pay so much money and not even get one glimpse of their logo.

If that’s the “real beef” between Conor and the UFC what’s the fake beef?

I don’t know if there’s an employer/employee relationship more loving than Conor/UFC.

Now that I’ve learned the “real beef” I’m dying to know the fake beef.

Being that Conor was paid by CBS/Showtime and he was only guaranteed 30 million for the fight pre PPV cut.  I’ve got to hear the math on how he’s owed 50 million from the UFC

Not a chance, conor would be telling everyone if they owed him money especially 50 mil.

Prove it

Perfect example of the idiocy that’s run rampant on these boards recently...

A “rumor” is posted and someone states there’s a need to prove it’s NOT true.

A rumor.

The fuck?!?

What a fucking moron...

Exactly.

He’d be suing the shit out of them and slaying them in the court of public opinion.

Doesn’t sound true at all. I think Conor would be raising a stink all over social media if he didn’t get paid his share.

A small maybe is the ufc did hold some money until his next octogon appearance which everyone including Conor and Dana were pretty confident it was going to be before the end of last year.

They were always going to have trouble getting him to fight for 10mill after the Floyd fight and are definitely smart enough to put that in his contract.

Also l think the Floyd fight was a 3 way co- promotion.

I'm not sure what the promotion arrangement actually was.....Mayweather Promotions and Showtime are two definites, but the 3rd is unclear. Originally Zuffa said they were going to help promote from behind the scenes....then they applied and were granted a license to be a promoter for the event....because as Bob Bennett explained, Mayweather promotions couldn't pay the opponent under nsac rules, so Zuffa had to be involved....

But when you watch the actual fight, Zuffa isn't mentioned anywhere as an official promoter in the introductions, it's just Mayweather, Showtime and MGM resorts lol

If this is true then Conor didn't have it in writing or he has a shitty attorney or both.
