You, Mr Ettish, may have the biggest balls of anyone who has ever posted on the UG. You have always held your head high, and rightfully so. Much, much respect.

As a young (stupid) man I made fun of you. As an older man, I respect you greatly.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. I’ve never wanted someone to win a fight the way I wanted you to win that second fight.

I remember way back when the "fetal fighting" website was going and it was kind of in fashion to mock Mr Ettish, I always just kind of said well, that guy had the guts to test himself and his art in a no holds barred cage match back when that sounded insane to most people. He was overmatched but he took his beating like a man and acted the gentleman afterwards. Respect.

I respect your attitude Fred.  I made fun of you decades ago and I apologize.  You never gave up and you have more guts than I do.

It was definitely wrong to say Anderson faded into obscurity. He remained very much involved in MMA as promoter and regularly appearing as a referee.

Yeah the comeback is the most overlooked !

kept his head and stayed in great shape! Especially in his 50s!

thats what being a fighter is all about!

never quitting ,learning, and willing to rumble all the time!

Just curious, Fred... what were you like prior to the UFC? Were you viewed by your social circle as the local tough guy? How did people react when you went back home? A lot of TMA guys had the Bruce Lee invincible aura about them back then. What was the personal setback after your UFC fight? I'd imagine it would be like having your identity stripped, but in the most public manner possible.

Thanks, Kirik!  Don’t deserve that, but I appreciate it.
