Inaugural UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is a GOAT contender, but never realized popularity in the West commensurate with his ability, and in 2018 was traded to ONE Championship for Ben Askren. Johnson went 3-0 n 2019, winning the ONE Flyweight Grand-Prix. And now, on February 24 in TBA, he gets a shot at the ONE flyweight world championship, .

Literally nobody on the planet can name the 3 guys he beat in 2019 without going to wikipedia to look it up.

The guy didn't want to promote himself. Well, he got what he wanted. A nice low profile fight career, where a tiny fraction of diehard fans are the only ones who even know he's still fighting, let alone when and where.

Those were some good scraps!

And if it's good for the diehard fans then fuck those fairweather homo fans.

Who cares? I’m a hardcore fan and I love watching his fights. Of course I think he belongs in the UFC like everyone else but he’s fighting, still beating everyone, getting paid what he wants, and he’s happy. Plus he’s one of the most exciting guys to watch in the history of the sport. I don’t really see a downside...

VERY exciting fights, all of them. I personally have enjoyed watching his run in ONE. Very few people respected him here, so he traveled to a place where everyone will.

I watch him beat Yuya Wakamatsu live in Tokyo, and was suprised at how good the Pancrase guy was. I forget who he beat for his second fight. I'm a big Team Lakay fan generally, and Danny Kingad fan specifically. But I guess you are right, that I cou;dn't name all three.

I'm surprised he wasn't the champ in One already. Oh well, I hope him and Cejudo have a rubber match at some point, then winner fights Figgy Smalls.
