When did he fight on Saturday? The prelims or main card as I watched both but didn't see it..how did he look? He's fighting at 185 right?

First fight of the night. I caught it on replay on the app. Threw some heavy shots and controlled the fight. Got a little tired if I remember right.

Great debut fight, he fought a UFC vet.  He's not point sparring.  He looks like he belongs in the big show.  It'll be interesting to see his talents come to bear... that first fight was pretty much just a slobber knocker, except with a guy who knows how to use his size and frame (basically the opposite of Stefan Struve).

He’s way too small for MW. Before he moved camps heard he lacked the discipline to lose weight and is a little tentative on his feet.

You can see the replay of the fight on ESPN.com. Deron and Eric deserved their $50k performance bonuses for sure.

Fightmetric says Winn:

  • Was 0/3 on TD attempts (I don't think he really tried hard for TDs).
  • Landed 169 of 367 strikes for a 46% rate.

Spicely:

  • 108 of 224 strikes landed (48%).

Winn landed more strikes in Round 3 than in Round 1.

My opinion: He has a solid chin and a high output rate. This was only his 6th pro fight. When he commits to mixing his wrestling and striking he's probably going to be successful against guys below the top 15 of MW, but he really should be fighting at a lower weight. Spicely landed quite a few solid shots, and he's not really much of a striker (his highest strike landed total in UFC before this fight was 17 strikes).

I’m just a grappler. I don’t even fight

You might say you don't even fight, but you now have a FOTN to go with your POTN against Thiago Santos.... someone thinks you fight!
