After see Poirer/Hookers fave is make me so fucking sad to see their payouts. Obviously that doesn’t include “locker room bonuses” but still sucks. Especially a man like The Diamond who clearly is an amazingly and gracious man.

fighters are still taking as low as 12k/12k for a UFC fight?  Wtf.  That’s chump change.

This isn’t a career, it’s an opportunity.  But rhis opportunity should pay out.

Hooker took a helluva beating for $110,000 (minus taxes, payments to his trainers and other expenses).

So basically everyone makes 14/14 until the top 4 fights. Also how does Poirier only make 40k more than Hooker?

pay hasn't changed much since UFC 1.

That was for three fights in one night so it basically works out to about $16,500 per fight. Or structured the way it is now, $8,250 to show and $8,250 to win. Also the most anyone else in the event got paid was $5k (didn’t Severn day he got 5,000?), and I assume some didn’t get paid at all.

I’m not sure about UFC 1-5 but I know several fighters that went on record saying they made a flat $10,000 from UFC 6-10 (unless they won the tournament)

Good fighters from foreign markets tend to get paid more than someone similar from the US, all things being equal.

They def for fotn as well so add 50k to that. I would hey Dustin got close to 700K for that fight.

I think the fighters deserve a much larger chunk as well but when you compare to boxing payouts MMA def pays more guys more money. Only the top 3-5 guys in boxing are making real money.

Go look at some of the prelim fighter payouts for those guys.

Damn, I wish Dana would stop putting a gun to these poor guys' heads and make them sign these contracts.

To be honest I dont see any difference that makes this one payout worthy of complaining. Yes fighters should get like twice their current pay but thats not news.

All those fighters making 28k on the card should get 10k... I dont even know who they are..... give the remaining 18k of each of those fighters to Dustin

Is the locker room bonus still a thing?

Not for an elite professional athlete who can only compete about 3x/year.

Especially when you add in other expenses and compare it to share of the revenue.

Even with the fight of the night bonus, Perry made more than Hooker even though Hooker was in the main event and 5 round fight. That's terrible.

Give me co main 3 round fight against low level competition for more money any day.

It brings into question the win bonus. Hooker presumably would have doubled his pay (to $220,000) if he'd been able to beat Poirier. But he put on a helluva show and absorbed some epic punishment. The $50,000 FOTN bonus helps but it does seem like he should have taken home more $$$.

If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much -

UFC got 18m roughly form ESPN for this show, that is just domestic TV rights

I've seen that quoted a lot, but everyone was saying 1.5 billion over 5 years

https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/espn-adds-30-fights-to-ufc-tv-rights-deal-reaching-1-5-billion-value-exclusive-1202819447/

Then 2 months ago everyone switched to casually dropping that it was 750 Every year, aka 18 million per event.

Thats a massive difference, more than 2 times what the WWE gets. Hard to believe. Is it a COVID thing where ESPN got money laying around because there's no sports?

Who is the source that reported this bananas increase?
