Cowboy took to Instagram to say “Just got off the phone with my ole Buddy. And at 155 it’s kinda are only option. He told me Cowboy let’s go make this money. And if I can Promise y’all something this is a fight y’all Do Not Want to miss. O and of course it’s on short notice ”

It looks like Cowboy wasn’t kidding at all, as he is currently booked to face a fellow fan favorite and top bonus hunter. As Dana White just revealed to Yahoo! Sports, Cerrone will be facing Justin Gaethje on September 14. The lightweight contest will serve as the five round main event for UFC Vancouver.

Fuck yea, gaethje has serious power and pressure, dont see cowboy lasting a round here. Going to be hard to stop gaethjes pressure, especially with cowboy being such a slow starter...

Gaethje is surely a beast going forward, but you never know. Cowboy have some nights that make you think it's unstoppable like the Iaquinta fight. Fun fight for sure... which Cowboy will show?

Holy ballllllls

Gaethje wins that. Too much pressure. Might look semi like the tony fight. Though cowboy will be in this one more.

I love it got damn. Some of these fight announcements lately have been amazing.

Cerrone could use angles, jabs, and body work like poirer and alvarez

I'd put a screenname bet on Cerrone winning. Any takers?

I'd take this offer, but can totally see cowboy getting the win as well, just dont think he will.

Would Cowboy try to grapple with Justin?

I'd love to see that.

This would be a good fight to drop money on whoever the underdog is.

I think it all depends on which Cowboy shows up. I could easily see Gaethe get sloppy and catch a head kick KO.

Cerrone should, but won't, go ground. He will stand and bang. Dude is a nut. I don't think hall of fame means much, but he has to be there.

If Super-Cowboy shows up it will be awesome!

Cowboy lookin to eat his food through a straw within the next decade. Guy has taken untold amounts of brain damage. Win or lose, I hope he gets through this one without multiple concussions. Not likely. He's probably gonna get brutalized.

This is one of those fights where I don't want either person to lose

Cowboy is a warrior.

This guy fights the best and has a killer schedule.

I wasn’t even a fan of his but am becoming one simply due to his mentality.

This fight doesn't need any hype. Aw, what the hell. Why not.

This fight moves my needle. Two of my favorites going at it. Pulling for Cerrone but my head is saying he starts slow as usual and Justin catches him at some point in the first round.

I’m surprised everyone thinks Cowboy loses. I see him piecing this dude up as the fight goes on. Gaethje leaves his chin up all day

He’s been locked into a spot in the HoF for awhile now.

Great fight. Hope they get it signed.

Also, how is this late notice for Cerrone? He’s got about 6 weeks to train.
