UnderGround Forums I loved seeing Stephens and Yair shake hands after

In this day and age, imo, it’s much more difficult for people to keep their cool and remain civil.  I like to see a good scrap and when it’s done, shake hands and respect the art of fighting.  Great fight by both of them.

I didn't. Yair has been acting like a bitch. Nothing he did in that fight absolves him of that. Leave the sportsmanship to tennis.

I would've rather seen them jerk each other off with a double swallow, but the beef hasn't been squashed. You can call it a sport all you want but at the end of the day it's a fight and Yair won but only because it was regulated.

Agreed. Yair deserves no respect. 5 round fight he would have been done.

How does he deserve no respect?

He owed a public apology for sure.  He accused JS of being a quitter and looking for an easy way out after he illegally poked him in the eye, ruined a main event, and said nothing to his fans about throwing garbage on the man.  The whole Mexico situation was fucked and was lol Yairs fault.  Stephens went three hard rounds, and proved Yair wrong.  Only a spoiled child would refuse to apologize publicly after that.

I understand that he didn't react well in that situation but he doesn't need to publicly apologise, he should apologise to Stevens personally.

imo hr has done more than enough to earn respect.

Also, have you seen how Stevens talks to people? Dudes a hot head and threatens people all the time, does he deserve more or less respect for that kind of behaviour?

I agree yair acted like and idiot after the first fight. but I can also see yair being super hyped fighting in front of his home country and  from all the shit Stephens talks..  I thought those first 2 rounds were really good ..

I’m sure most fighters act cool after a fight as they don’t want to look like bad sportsmanship or a sore loser.

Yair as talented as he is just seems a real Drama Queen at times going off on Stephens and ducking guys in the past.

It was a good fight, would’ve been better if it was five rounds. I got the impression Stephens was happy and hugged him immediately after the fight cause he thought he won. It looked like his expression changed pretty drastically after Buffer read the decision. The look on Stephens face when Yair hugged him right after the decision cracked me up.

I agree OP.

I'm always a fan of good sportsmanship.

Especially after HEATED rivalry’s.  I just think in this day and age, with these liberal protesters rioting, and the world we live in...people are so damn entitled, emotional, and triggered these days.  It’s nice to see respect and composure after the business is handled

Is it possible Yair was saying all that shit ONLY to promote the rematch?  I mean, he would have to be delusional or lying to suggest Stephens would ever look for a way out of a fight, particularly right at the start.

And is it possible that after the fight Stephens actually appreciated the interest that Yair had generated?

Serrious question.

Loved it. Was hoping a photo was taken as they both leaned up against the cage beside each other after the fight.
