Years ago, forget if it was at the Hopkins/Joppy or Gatti/Dorin fight, I spot Mark Ratner walking around. I asked him if he’d mind taking a picture, and he answers, “you want a picture with me?”. I answer yes. He says, “do you know who I am?” as if he thinks I’m mistaking him for someone else. I say, “ya, you’re Mark Ratner”.
He smiles and says, “ok, sure”. Really cool guy

I agree. It’s a $65 PPV and people on the east coast have to stay up until damn near 2am to watch the best fights. I support the HOF but they should do it on a free ESPN show.

I don’t know Marc Ratner personality, but know several people that he is friends with and I have never heard any of them ever say anything negative about him.

I think a couple of times they went to him during a broadcast, to give some detail on rules for an unusual situation during a fight. He seemed to not really have the answers as I expected.and it made me think he was new.to the job or something.

That's because he came from boxing so I think he was kind of new to mma at that level but was open minded when other commissioners weren't and ended up fighting for the UFC and MMA resulting in its widespread legalization. Seems like a genuine person and his work and results speak for themselves.
