UnderGround Forums Megan Anderson vs. Felicia Spencer

When Felicia took her down, she wound up on the bottom. She reversed because Megan seemed too scared to grapple, gave her too

much space and didn’t know what to do. She basically kept the same position while Felicia was rolling to take her back (and even had her head wrapped in Megan’s legs, but Megan couldn’t also capitalize on that one).

Then, when Felicia took Megan’s back, instead of using her hands to unhook her legs or hands, Megan literally pulled Felicia’s head towards her, spending unnecessary energy. Then, she crossed her arms and looked very desperate, enabling Felicia to ground and pound her.

Megan seemed scared to be on her back. She made many mistakes and lost many opportunities. It’s something she has to work on.

Why does this division exist? That whole fight was legit beginner level stuff. Insane

Was made to keep Cyborg from going to Bellator. That is the only reason.

Yo, Andradoba or whatever your name is, where you at?

Huge size advantage over a soccer mom who took the sport up 3 weeks ago and still can't offer up any defense.  Just think, that was the top of the "Division".

Felicia was invicta champ, not just someone they found on the street.

There isn't a big difference between those two.

It is. Legit high level fighters like Mighty Mouse, Macdonald, and Mousasi were let go for other orgs because UFC was too cheap to keep em. The likes of Megan Anderson get fights almost at the top of the card. “Super Bowl of MMA.” Yeah right

That slow mo boob bouncing before the commercial break was the best part of the fight.

it is tragic to think of what acquisitions they have gotten since losing the lines of those guys and others. its almost as if WME has no fucking clue how to run a MMA organization and that they come from the world of tennis or something where half of the audience is there to show off there high class whore wives and mistresses.

She turned pro 4 years ago and her opponents had a combined record of 23-7 which is lightyears better than most women coming into the UFC.

Are you familiar with hyperbole?

WMMA still sucks 99% of the time, doesn't mean that some of the fights can't be fun and entertaining but they don't belong in the UFC if we are going by talent, skill, atleticism, level of competition etc.

I think he is googling “hyperbole” at this very moment but still won’t understand it.

Haven't seen the fight yet. I like Megan, but it sounds like it wasn't very competitive. Also sounds like Spencer is legit, so no serious shame in the loss. Probably a good wake up call and an opportunity to improve beyond posting striking drills on instagram. No ground game, you lose. Makes me think Cat probably could have beat her on the ground, but we all know Cat probably would have tried to trade with Megan cause Cat fights crazy.

Megan had a prefight interview where she's talking about Spencer coming to the UFC and how she's jumping up to a much higher level. Kind of speaking like she herself is among that upper echelon, but she really isn't. Got dominated by Holly, and a fluke win over Cat. Now a bad loss over a good, but not a world beater type opponent.

This was her chance to show UFC level skill in a decent matchup and she didn't. Get back to training your all around game, work harder, and consider yourself a fortunate humble visitor in UFC until you prove otherwise.

Yeah and wasn't Megan pretty highly rated or hyped before coming to the UFC? It seems she isn't that good after all ..I find women's Mma for the most part, hard to watch

Like many before her, if she spent all the time she spends on social media training, she has huge potential. I think this is a huge factor in why Women’s MMA isn’t progressing, being a top athlete takes dedication and work, half of them seem to want to be pouting on social media more than they wanna spend the time improving

Spencer’s striking looked clumsy...  Megan’s one power shot looked good.

I don’t think Felicia’s ground game looked THAT special. She was fast on the ground and showcased good reaction time. It’s just that Megan was basically paralyzed.

Megan tagged her solid about 2-3 times I think, but it didn't throw her game off at all. Props to Felicia for chin/toughness. Spencer looked quick and capable with her grappling, but you're right, it was more Megan just having very limited ability in that area.

Congrats to Felicia, hopefully she gets more fights. And hopefully Megan shifts focus of her training to 80% grappling.

Also, Megan’s clinch looked weak, as it did in her fight against Holly.

This takes year of dedication to improve.
