Tonon confirmed it on FB that Metamoris is making competitors sign exclusive contracts so that they cannot compete at EBI or similar events...

They tried to get Garry to no show EBI at the last minute like they apparently got Mafra to do but Garry didn't want to go out on some punk shit like that.


That's not the way to grow the sport...

Metamoris won't get a dime from me after this unless they change this policy. It's a shame too because I've always really enjoyed Metamoris!

There is plenty of room for exciting sub only competitions on PPV, this kind of behavior is terribly short sighted and will only stifle the growth and evolution of the sport. They are cutting off their nose to spite their face! Phone Post 3.0

Exactly, it's just a dumb business decision and seems completely insane. I can't believe they're really trying to lock people down with contracts, and it's even crazier to hear they're using it to fuck over EBI. Do they honestly think the jiu jitsu community is going to respond well to this? I guess we'll have to wait and see how they do with their upcoming events.
